As an employee of Cineplex Entertainment, every shift is a different position. While one day you may be scheduled to work Concession, the next day would be dedicated to working the Theatres. However, always maintaining the highest level of professionalism and atmosphere of a Cineplex Theatre. 

I currently work with a mixture of Team Members that range from 17-30 years of age, while Team Leaders are of various ages as well. Management does their best to ensure all Team Members and Leaders are given assistance when needed as well as providing assistance to any Guest with a raised question or concern. 

Throughout the 3+ years working for Cineplex, I have learned valuable work experience, skills and knowledge that are transferable between various employment opportunities. These skills and knowledge include the importance of Teamwork and being able to work with one another to complete tasks. As well as a strong Sales ethic, as upselling merchandise that may be of an interest to a customer. 

Overall, the most enjoyable part of the job would be the gratitude expressed from satisfied customers.

I have worked for Cineplex for 5 years now, and it is a great company to work for, with a good corporate culture, and a laid back atmosphere.

A typical day of work is busy for an hour, slow /stock for an hour, then go again.
I learned many things from Cineplex, like how to maintain a schedule, and use time effectively. As well as how to deal with staff and guests when issues arise. 

Management was pretty good for the most part. They always tried to work around my outside schedule, and give me the best possible hours they could. 

The hardest part of working for Cineplex is when no one comes to the movies. The days get long, and occasionally boring, so I had to learn to keep myself occupied, and make my own tasks.

The thing I enjoyed most about working at Cineplex was watching movies after hours, or playing video/arcade games. 
I also really enjoyed working directly with the public and seeing all the regulars come in, and having discussions about what movies were good, and how others could have been better. 

I'd recommend this job to any entry-level workers, or students, as it is evenings and weekends, and great for that type of lifestyle. 

I wouldn't recommend this job to anyone who is trying to support a family, or get ahead in life.

A typical day at work would include setting up and preparing food, so starting poppers, hot dog machine, pop towers, getting ice, filling merchandisers with bottled beverages and popcorn. Throughout the day, our job is taking orders for food and movie tickets and then filling them. Maintaining the popcorn machines and restocking, sweeping and cleaning between customer waves is another job. At the end of the day, we either clean theaters or we clean behind the counter, so cleaning poppers, pop towers, counters, floors, etc. And then doing counts for candy and merchandise. My co-workers are fun but all younger than me. I'd like to work somewhere where the hiring rate is not always high school students so that I'm not looked upon as a high school student. The managers are great. They are pretty lenient and accepting of schedule shifts or changes. The hardest part of the job is probably always working night shifts because on week days the theater is only open starting at 6pm and we're usually there until around 11:30 or 12pm. The most enjoyable part is the satisfaction of customer service. I had never worked in direct costumer service but I enjoy it now.

I started working at the old Cineplex in the Brantford Mall and then worked in the new Galaxy cinemas. At that time in my life it was the most exciting and wonderful experience. 
The theater is a comfortable climate controlled environment. It can get crazy busy in their, so come in rested and bring your A game. 
This job is customer service at a high level. 
You will need to be good at problem solving and knowing when to ask for help. Clean as you go, presentation is key when serving food and hosting guests.
The general manager is a real character and a good man, you can trust him. The managers were/are wonderful people to work with. They will double check the important stuff. That is key when you are wound up or exhausted during busy chaotic shifts. 
This company is constantly improving and their is always room to move up in the world. 
Expect thorough training. This job can be more demanding then you may think, but its all worth it if you love movies and the movie going experience.

A typical day as a cast member begins shuffling through butter-encrusted floors and ends shuffling through buttery-encrusted floors. This position is your average, fast-paced food service job. There will be easy customers and terrible customers. 

The management was friendly but distant. You could freely ask for assistance and guidance but you were also regarded as very easily replaceable. The hardest part of the job was dealing with nasty customers. The most enjoyable part of the job was serving children with bright smiles! 

Overall, this type of job is suited for teenagers or people returning to the workforce. The hours were few and far between, roughly 6 hour shifts once or twice a week. You get free drinks and popcorn twice a day during work hours, and free movies for a guest any time. Room for advancement is available if you stick with the entry-level job and prove you are capable.

There’s some very poor management and management skills at the Moose Jaw Galaxy location. Some of the management treat their employees terrible, while the odd one is fair. The Moose Jaw location continues to lose great employees because of the way they treat their employees. The Moose Jaw location is always hiring, but due to the employees quitting such a toxic environment. Upper regional management would be wise to clean house for managers and hire managers who understand how to treat people with respect, and how to understand the employment act. They pay minimum wage and you’re lucky to gain a ten cent raise if you work very hard and take extra shifts when you’re not scheduled, because they don’t have enough staff. My advice - until they staff the Moose Jaw location with proper management - run from any job offers. There are many more opportunities and great places to work where management treat staff with fairness and respect. 

Worked at cineplex for a pretty long time and only have ever had petty complaints. This job works well for teenagers or those looking for evening and weekend shifts. They are really great for time off requests and usually they will get approved. Unfortunately cineplex does not give raises unless you get promoted and if you get promoted your raise is very little. The free movies were a great perk but that’s basically it other than free popcorn and small drink during or around your shift (along with 50% off food items during that time). You’re able to transfer to different theatres if you move which was an amazing experience for me. Management has been a mixed bag between theatres, anywhere you go you’re going to have good and bad. Personally I didn’t have a complete bad experience with any. Overall it’s a good starter job but don’t expect to be appreciated by a huge company that only cares about money. Cineplex higher ups tell managers to cut shifts all the time (even when staff is needed).

I worked for Cineplex for almost 4 years, it was my first job and i worked there until COVID shut them down. I honestly loved the people I worked with and training and getting to meet new people was a great experience. That being said, this is the kind of job that you take only if you have literally no other commitments besides working. The turnover rate here definitely says something. I was working basically full time just because the boss liked me but there were others that only got 3 hours a week. I felt very taken advantage of for all of the work i put in at that place, if you plan on taking a job with them I’d be very clear on when you can work, why you can’t work certain days and they’ll probably still have a problem with it. 
If being busy and working weekends and Tuesday nights are taken up already, this isn’t the place for you and they’ll make that very clear. 

I was completely cross trained so my duties varied from day to day.  I was able to run the projection booth, putting together prints, threading movies to play and maintenance.   I was also trained in cash office as a teller, I helped with the cashing out process of all cash registers, counted and verified money and all other forms of payment as well as deposits.  I was a trainer for all new staff, as well as a team leader.  I was in charge of making sure the concession stand ran smoothly, as well as the floor cleaning crew keeping up with cleaning.  I also made sure everyone had breaks during the downtimes and made sure we were ready for the next rush.  The hardest part would be how busy it could get depending on events and weather in the area.  Most enjoyable would have to be projection, training and cash office.

Good high school job, but the hours can be tough to manage (very late nights, and no guaranteed holidays off). Learned a lot of important skills here that set me up for better opportunities in the future (learning how to balance a cash float, good customer service, safe food prep, time management, etc.) and gained some cool move-up opportunities quickly. I was able to become a trainer and a shift lead within a year. Bad part was minimum wage going up being considered my "raise", so as a shift lead i was only being paid about 10 cents more than brand new hires. Most managers were good, but had a couple that you could tell really didn't like being there.
