I would say this job wasn't terrible. During the summer you would have pretty good hours but during the school year, or slower weeks it could get boring and sometimes you would be let go early depending if there was too many people on shift. 
Learning concession was pretty easy, but you have to learn to be quick and fast to keep guests happy. 

Hardest part of the job: being fast, getting stuff out quickly, mangers acting like theyre still in high school. 
Best part: the other staff made it fun, you got free movies and the shifts usually went by pretty fast and you could be able to tell what time would be busy based by movie times 

over all: not a bad job to start or if youre in school or need some extra money but not your dream job lol








-It felt like you were constantly being babysat by the management, having to ask a manager if you could return to your zone, take garbage out, if your uniform was alright even if you wore the exact same thing every day.

-If a customer had an issue you would have to call a manager up, and management would take a long time to come to your zone even if it there was a rush.
The schedule would take a long time to come out, sometimes having you not know if you were working the next day or not.
-Sometimes schedule ended at 11:30 PM and was there til 1 AM

-what made the work enjoyable was it was fast-paced, the other staff was fun and enjoyable, and free movies twice a month




A typical day a work, walk in greeted nicely by managers and co-workers great work environment. Helping guests enjoy their movie experience to the best of my ability. I have learned that the little things you do for someone can make their experience so much more enjoyable. The management team at Galaxy St.Thomas is phenomenal, always positive and set a great example and I'm never hesitant to ask questions. Co-workers at Galaxy are a great bunch of people, easy to talk and get along with but most importantly this makes it easier to work as a team, and focus at the task at hand. The hardest part of the job would have to be dealing with customers that just come in with a negative attitude and there is nothing you can do to cheer them up. The most enjoyable part of the job would have to be the people I work with and the management team, they make the work environment so comfortable that it's hard for someone not to fit right in.

I worked here less than a year. I really love my coworkers, but the management is really hit or miss, there's only 2 really great managers at the one I worked at. The hours here sucked. Part-time hours to them is more like one shift a week, plus always getting sent home early. They constantly have been hiring more people, but not giving more than one shift a week. They wonder why they have such a high turnover rate, it's because they give little to no hours. They also cut your shifts off your schedule pretty frequently.

Not stressful but it is very fast paced environment.

All the employees are very friendly and very supportive.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
On the weekends its a fast paced and weekdays are not very busy

my theatre is only open after school and on weekends. with about 50 cast members and limited hours to go around, management is lenient in letting staff book time off or trade shifts, but you’d be looking at about 20 hours on a good week, and 7 hours on a week where there are no popular movies out. 
management is fine, but it’s to be expected that with only 4 managers to such a large staff, it’s easy for cast members to get lost in the woodwork

I loved working there. The co-workers were awesome! What drove me to quit was management. 
I learned a lot about quick and efficient service. Multitasking. Customer service. 
Over all it's a good job. Nice people, simple problem solving, simple math. 
I highly recommend this position to any high school student looking for a part time job.

-Lots of begging for other peoples shifts
-Great set of employees
-so many policies that get added so often

Working at the Galaxy Cinema was a fun experience. Made many friends during my 1.5 years at this job. The management did a lot to try make the employees feel comfortable and like they were a part of a team. The job had its challenges but overall I did not want to leave this job but had to due to personal reasons. 

Unless you are a die-hard worker who is willing to put in every hour you've got, do not expect to advance in this company. Not too bad for high-school or university students who are looking for a part-time job, but it's quite demanding, and training is not great.
