My experience at the food produce warehouse was fairly typical for a busy distribution-style environment. As a former employee, I saw both the strengths and the challenges that come with working in a high-volume setting. The warehouse handled a large amount of produce daily, and the team generally worked hard to keep things moving efficiently. There was usually a good selection of fruits and vegetables coming through, and it was interesting to see how quickly products were received, sorted, and prepared for distribution.

That said, the work could be physically demanding and the pace was often fast, especially during peak delivery days. Organization in certain areas could occasionally improve, but most employees did their best to keep things running smoothly despite the workload. Management expectations were fairly high, though the job provided a solid hands-on understanding of how produce distribution works. Overall, it was a practical work experience that gave insight into the behind-the-scenes side of the food supply chain.

Come to work on time, do a good job or at least appear to do a good job and you will not have a problem.  A reasonable amount of available overtime if you want.
It takes a while to get to the full salary, but the benefits are decent after your probation.  Vision and dental coverage is below average.
The big bosses try to be friendly but only when the mood strikes them to be friendly.  The supervisors are decent people and if they see you make an effort, they will be a little more lenient on you.
Beware of the HR department.  The HR lady is all smiles to your face, but is less then committed to your well being behind your back.  Even though she calls herself a "People Development" manager.

Working for this company, I found the environment to be very busy at times servicing some of the largest produce companies in Ontario. This helped me gain skills in problem solving, time management and dealing with unexpected changes to circumstances. Overall, I developed a stronger sense of professionalism and learned to become a better team leader. Although, I felt as though this company could improve on their communication between team members to ensure stronger customer service.

Daily day at work we have to deal with customers who come to buy fruits and vegetables in a wholesale price. 
i learned much about the people from different cultures. i also learn about time management and importance of meeting goals within a time limit. 
Management was pretty respectful for what their employee do and support with whatever resource necessary. They treat their employee fairly.
Hardest part of the job is to lift and carry heavy products. 
Most enoyable part of the job is to meet with different clients and be a part of diverse workforce.

A typical day at work:
Pretty simple job, Safely operate the End Rider and pick from the correct slots and you are golden.

What i learned:
I learned that a box of cabbage is heavy. Why such a big box!

Management
Nice group of people, Willing to teach those that wish to learn.

Workplace culture
Pretty relaxed. Everyone working at their own pace to get the work done.

Warehousing and inventory; shipping and receiving, cycle counting, inventory inquiries, inventory reports, SOPs, disciplines, weekly total inventory, supervising warehouse and office staff, coordinating with QC, complying with Canada customs officials

gambles produce is a good first job but there is very little room for growth in the company, only a select few that stand out will get on full time...

Terrible Bosses, overworked and under paid, your basically a mule and you bring produce to the customers and load them most customer do not speak English and makes things more difficult and frustrating. Terrible place to work wouldn't recommend it to anyone. And very low pay.

Great first job as they provide lots of training and support to help you become proficient at your job.  There are various shift start times available including very early an times. Also do BBQs in the summer.

Co-workers are full of team work spirit.
The most enjoyable part of the job is team work.
I have learned a lot of experience about the skills of sales, multitasking and priorities.
