High stress environment with 2-4 Supervisors/managers walking around the line at all times and watching you work.  Some times they will actually stand 10 feet away from you and just stare at you for 15 minutes.  Work is steady and does not stop from break to break, and you can be working solid the entire time while being stared at, but god forbid you look up for 5 seconds to look around and see how things are progressing or answer a question to help a new Temp out.  If that happens management is flailing their arms at you like you are slacking.

Every day is a clown fiesta with management running around freaking out because 10-20% of the workers called in.  Almost never is there a full shift.  They bounce a lot of full time workers around all day to fill the empty spots usually leaving the new temps in the same position they learned for 8 hours every day with very low chance to be rotated.  High chance for injury.  But production over people is prominent at this location.

None of the full time workers here care about this company anymore, they've been beaten down and abused.  Almost none of them do overtime and most of them don't even work 5 days a week.  The company can't get people to work their full 40 hours because they just abuse everyone.   Full time workers literally schedule their #2 for work and make sure they spend a solid 25 minutes every day in the washroom.  That's how much they love this place.  Temps get rotated in and out with practically 0 chance of ever being hired.  You can be a great employee hoping for long term position and get cycled out for no reason just because they do not want to hire.  But they will make all the promises in the world and dangle that carrot in front of you to try to get everything out of you while you're there.  And if you give everything it does not matter.

There is no chance for advancement here.  If you want to work here, they will hire you as a temp and you may make decent money for a few weeks or at most 2-3 months before they can you.  It doesn't even matter if you learn fast, get great at the tasks, work hard, and give them all the overtime you can/work every Saturday.  That all gets you nowhere.

Management also has very little clue about what is going on.  Often one of them will be micro managing you to go here and do this then go there and do that and pushing you back and forth and all around to try to get work done faster... which in turn actually slows you down.  And you can be in the middle of doing something that you were told to do while another manager comes flying around a corner freaking out waving their arms about why is nobody at their positions!!.

This place is a joke and the only reason the long-term employees are still there is because the pay works out to about $23 an hour for them after bonus. 

But if you are looking at this company as an opportunity for yourself... do not waste your time.  

If you only need a few weeks of work, then this would be a good fit for you if you are okay with a fast-paced and stressful environment.

not enough technicians on afternoon shift for help

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
good people. just not multicultural. Had a bad experience with one of the worker who seems to be racist towards me

very fast pace and would not have any idea which machine will break and when

My position was very busy and too much work for one person, needed to be split in two. 
There was no real training and a lack of leadership.  When management was not there, many of the staff took advantage of situation making it hard for those of us who needed to get work done. Very young staff and management with little leadership skills. 

Micromanagement stifles creativity eventually people leave.
Lack of IT Managerial experience results in failed application support team.  Inability to recognize the amount of support needed to successfully respond to many requests as well as lack of proper training transfer & length of time. 

Because of the head office being in Quebec, there is little effort to understand the rules for Ontario operation. Many operations needed to brought under Ontario legislation, but difficult when control for decisions is done out-of-province.

At Garaga you will make decent pay for a factory job but you will work hard and be shown zero respect from managment. They do not follow the union contract and have created a hostile and sometimes unsafe work environment and do not care about the employees health and safety 

Very toxic work environment. New employees are expected to perform at full speed immediately with little to no training. I was injured at work and received zero assistance or support from management. Overall, there is a lack of care for employee safety and well-being.

The people at garaga are friendly and management treats you well.  The work get get repetative but clean working conditions.  The pay is fair, But there are slow seasons where work days are shorter.

What is the best part of working at the company?
To have every Friday afternoons off

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The owners are micromanagers and dont know anything about hr practices and market trends.
