My experience working at garden city manor was productive and a great learning experience the co-workers and bosses were all great.It is a great place to work.I think the hardest part of the job was was always trying to get everything donejust because there was always so much to do everydaybut at the end of the day wen I was done and finished everything there would always be a resident around who would let us know what a great job we had done and how very thankful they were.I think the biggest thing I learned was that not every facility is ran the same way and that some places require more work than others. I guess it all depends on how many residents are living in the facility.Either way it all works out at the end of the day when everyone is happy especially the management and most importantly the residents.The one thing I wished for was to get a posting at least then I would have had a steady income,but its really hard to get a posting

I worked for GCM for quite a few years and I can say that the only positive aspect about the place is the great coworkers. Aside from that, it is an awful place to work. The management team is a disaster, with most of them having zero qualifications for the positions they hold. The ED backs up his team even when they are in the wrong, which is often. They sit in their offices with the doors closed and offer little to no support to their departments. Staffing is constantly short, with some managers not even bothering to replace staff and leaving the other employees to "figure it out". Poor work ethic and laziness is overlooked and staff that perform greatly and always show up are rarely given thanks. 
Staff are exhausted, unhappy, unappreciated and collectively agree that this place needs to clean house and find new management. 



First career after school. Only left when started family. After being told that I was the executive manager’s  ‘golden girl’ I called in I’ll while I was pregnant and my perfect record was flawed. I was very disappointed to see how new management could ruin a pleasant work environment. I will never go back. Making better money elsewhere and living family life now. Good experience for new graduates though 

I worked at gcm for a few years in different positions. Management changed in 2021/2022 and it's really gone down hill. Staff morale is really bad and management (ED/DOC) doesn't care for their staff. Nurses are hard to come by and a lot have/are leaving for different jobs. The PSWs and regular nurses that I worked alongside are awesome though. They really care for their residents, as did I. 

Provide care to 200+ residents  suffering from alzheimers/dementioned,  provideo support to resident's, families and costaff on daily basis. Lead groups of residemts in a variety of programs being social, physical, cognitive and relegions to maintain their health status as their disease develops

Its 8 hours shift. I started in GCM as a new grad.  I learned a lot and I believe I am still learning. Every day is a new day with a new experience for me. Looking at my living address and GCM says it all in past four years. Looking forward to a new home with new residents.

Management asked a lot from staff from all departments but don't compensate and appreciate the work you do accordingly. It's often short staffed across all departments. The job itself is rewarding but the work environment could be better.

Garden City has had many changes over the past few months.  These changes were not for the better.  I miss my residents but could no longer work in a dysfunctional environment!

It is an okay place to work but was very short staffed when I was employed and managers did not treat employees very well. Loved most of the co-workers and adored the Residents.
