I have owned 4 retail stores and the lack of any sort of managerial presents is not there ! stores orders are not done just seem at my particular location nothing is organized. 
Employees who never show up are treated the same as employees that do show all the time but those of us that do show up are covering shifts for this who don’t , we are already short staffed , agreed its normal for others to cover but the manager keeps giving same shifts so it puts a huge strain on the other staff and it’s a weekly event and that is creating a bad work to life balance.
   I would never run a store like this lacks any respect for management and is really just making myself wonder why bother.
I like my job, love the  people but my wage for doing what I am do is not balanced I mean minimum wage for clerk ok but then I’m suppose to break my back hauling in liquor for 16.75 an hour I was hired within 3 min after walking in store and working 3 hours that day which is fine I have 28 years in retail and 18 of those years I owned 4 stores I know what I’m doing. 
Youbou store need someone to pull yo the reins give fair wages as it is a drive  for me and most people won’t do it so we have locals so understandable it’s hard to get help at times but I think with fair wage that that would turn around quite quickly .

Working at Rockledge gas, and go was great for me. I got to work with funny, and engaging people, and I got to drink all the coffee I wanted if I brought a quarter for a cup-and the staff only really gives you sass if you miss it the odd day.

The upper management I have heard is difficult to work with, but that is from ground floor employees, but at the same time they are dependable, and reliable, and will definitely get you through a rough patch if you get hurt in the job, or have shown yourself to be a dedicated worker.

The management staff, Bre, that I worked with in Nanaimo was massively personable, and was really open to people who want to stand out. In three months I had been considered to be trained as a manager with a wage increase, and a more dedicated schedule.

There are always staff that come and go, and if you stick around at gas and go, they have your back. The only downfall was that they aren't able to discuss my terms of employment with future employers, which, hey, if you're in a tight spot and they need a worker for a month, all they say is "yep, they worked here!"

Mismanaged, overworked staff, decrepit stores, no reward for longevity. If you expect your location to be properly staffed and trained that's foolish. If you're reliable or unreliable expect to be clung onto and called to cover incessantly. Don't expect a raise after 5 years of solid work, and don't expect to be promoted fairly in the case do you have a good ethic and history. If you bust your back trying to do a great jobs expect a good pat on the back or a small gift card. Chances are they'll forget that too on your third week in a row with no days off.  Don't expect to be defended by management under most circumstances.

It is Kafkaesque how bad this place is.  I started off trying to list points describing how bad it is and it went on for so long that I thought "Nobody will believe this" and deleted it.  One thing I will say is that employees are treated like human garbage and the management are incompetent, treacherous dingbats who blame their own mistakes on staff, which is why this place has such a high turnover, with people constantly getting hired & fired.

This company and its managment/owner is a joke!!! no support from upper managment, as store managers are now not allowed to seek support above district managers, or you get write up, district managers use intimdation to get what they want from you.. the pay is not enough for the amount of stress that is on you and expectations they require, i wouldnt recommend working for this company when you see constant ads for employment for managers that says alot in itself
whoever says its an awsome place to work thats in manager position is full of it 

Not an employee, but I have heard horror stories about this horrible establishment that all I can say is it’s poor management. The employees are not treated with respect and the managers are lacking leadership and proper training, talking behind their staffs back. Overall not worth anyone’s time or effort. Exactly why there is tons of job postings for various stores.

Flexible hours, great team, lovely boss!  Lots of work to do though for minimum wage, I love it there, I just don’t quite have enough hours so I’m looking for part time work as a room attendant.

I enjoyed the fast pace and continual learning. Positive work environment, upper management is supportive and wants to see you succeed. Excellent advancement opportunities for anyone wanting to learn and grow with a company. Island owned and operated. Provides jobs to alot of people up and down the Island.

The owner bad mouths everyone behind their back . If you want to work for min wage / never receive any praise or encouragement and receive no support when a mentally ill robber comes in and threatens you then have an it and work for them !!!

Make promises and never deliver will under pay and treat you like you are garbage 10/10 wouldnt work here! They make promises and then lie or just wo t fulfill them. They have no business in the positions they are in!
