-Company has a variety of sites and contracts, and seems to be growing
-Management is good and bad -- but field supervisors are often good
-You can try it out and decide yourself.


Cons:
-Travel
-No guarantee of hours for students
Favouritism occurs, and it's possible to get forgotten too
-Work can be dangerous
-Instruction from clients and supervisors doesn't always make sense.


Advice: 
-Be dilligent in your work
-Have self-respect enough to move on if you are not happy or satisfied.
-If you're working with homeless populations, remember that some understanding and patience will help you a lot especially over the long term... Don't be a pushover, but you can have good relationships which = more cooperation.

This company has a very good system, you call in and get shifts that are available so you can work one day if you want or seven. You pick your own hours for training and come in for a uniform whenever you need to get one, less pressure on guards. Supervisors can be tough and controlling but its still worth the job if you are able to understand and do your job properly. Alot of the static sites I worked at have two or three guards on shift which makes it great because backup is always around if you need it. Event shifts can be stressful with some unusual hours but they are fun. Company is stylish and has a fun, positive exciting atmosphere. Genesis does not post alot of job ads which denotes stability in staff and operations. Definitely recommend this company for Security personnel.

There is definitely a decent amount of red tape working here. a couple years ago it was great but lately it has been challenging and so many changes have been made in office, field and management. Most of my favorite employees who were supportive and looked out for the field staff are now gone and it is no longer the same place to work.

They will use you when they need you and when its slow time, they will terminate you even you have valid reasons. I had a car accident and I was unable to work the next day. They send me termination notice the next week but keep giving me shifts. I thought its a mistake from the system and never talk to them about it. As soon as Christmas and new year over, they stopped giving me shifts.

I have good experience in various workplace.  Most of the workers are 
cooperative and  work hard.  More hours, some time get seven days a week.   Ministry of social insurance and housing office duty actually enjoyed with serving,  protecting, supporting and helping with homeless people and different category type people.  I got appreciation from that office.

Very abusive Human resources. Less English used on job and no fixed schedule. You are likely not to have work the best half of the year.
You have to watch out your work hours or you risk not getting paid sometimes.
Un accessible job sites and lack of concern for staff safety.

Benefits only available to mobile drivers, supervisors and managers. Even if you want benefits they pay for 50% of the employee premium, if you want family coverage, they only contribute 50% towards the employee portion of the family plan. Very expensive benefit plan compared to their competitors.

Very difficult company to work for. No professionalism and poorly trained supervisors and management. Perhaps a degree in management would benefit all. Owner was present but useless.

I was working at train station and I was supposed to control the train station ,guide the passengers and answer to them,and instructing them for their safety measures.My coworker were very suporting and hardest part of job was to keep me awake on foot whole night.

Great company to work for part-time and full-time. Company provides lots of flexibility in choosing location and time for work. Most of the job locations are very accessible via transit. Job is fun and easy, You never feel overworked or exhausted.
