I have been working for George Courey Inc. for a little under a year. Prior to George Courey, I worked for a large Fortune 500 company that treated employees as numbers; I was just another pawn to move around the chessboard. Although it was a great training ground that offered the opportunity to learn about structure and corporate culture, I longed for more. I spent a little under 18 months applying, interviewing and declining offers searching for a new company to call home. I, much like most energetic, passionate young professionals, spend more time in a week at the office than at home so the culture, quality of management, and general health of a business was primordial. I was searching for an organization that saw employees as their most valuable asset. During my interview process at George Courey, from the moment I met with both the 3rd and 4th generation leadership, I knew it was the right fit. George Courey has foundational roots that has allowed it to survive two world wars and the great depression. Does George Courey have competitors nipping at our heels? Do we have issues ensuring consistency with overseas manufacturing?  Do we have processes that need to be changed? Do we have employees who feel underpaid? (find me an employee who doesn’t feel like they deserve more). The answer is yes to all of the above but these issues are not unique to George Courey. These are fundamental management and sales issues that are prevalent in any company and I have yet to meet a management team who is more inspired and passionate about addressing those issues. Not only does that management team have a plan but they are maniacal in making sure the greater team is involved in the solution. Every company has the ability to improve and grow with the times but it is equally true that any company can buy the latest software or app or gadget to ostensibly promote itself as modern. But all the cloud integration and latest galactic technology in the Milky Way cannot replace the fundamental human quotient present at this company or the deep-seeded integrity woven into the fabric of the family and management team who operate George Courey.

This company has been around for over 100 years and is going through some exciting changes. I have seen this company transition under a great younger and dynamic management team. Everyone was extremely welcoming from my first day on the job and the great culture and support from the staff continued through my entire 3 year journey at this company. I would recommend that anyone looking for great job security, a fun and challenging work environment to apply to this company. As a family-owned business, you are treated like one of the family from day one. If my husband hadn't had to relocate for work outside of the province, I would have stayed here indefinitely. Great job advancement opportunities.


Employees here face unfulfilled promises and limited growth opportunities. Despite claims of advancement, it's a stagnant environment with no fair raises or paths for development. Expressing ambition leads to empty reassurances and high turnover. Management must improve to support employees. Additionally, they disregarded my forklift certification, denying me the chance to operate one I was rightfully certified for, undermining professional qualifications. 

Great company to work for if you're looking for a well established organization with tons of job security.  Management is currently in the process of updating their systems which is great because of lot of their tools are outdated.  Many of the employees have been here for a very long time and are adverse to change but management is pushing forward to what I believe is a positive direction.  The staff is very friendly and fun.

I worked for GCI for nearly 4 years and was the pioneer of inside sales. The people are great- but the benefits and the salary, not so much. I hear they have an HR, which I hope things have changed since- But do not base your opinion on my review- I suggest you meet the Sales Director- he is a great guy.

George COUREY is great with life/work balance but lack of communication/ terrible pay/lack of support and training, and just an overall terrible place to work.

Family orientated organization.
No possibility of advancing in company- but your job will be secured if you do  what you were hired to do. 
The CEO does way too much and should have at least an assistant.

It is a very great company and I learn lot of things in this company and highly recommended.Working atmosphere is great and you can grow more fast.Thanks

One in, one out, a revolving door. Nothing to like about. Safety is quasi-inexistent. Dirty place, lots of dust.
