Pros:
-Room for self motivated individuals to further train themselves through company modules
-Monday-Friday positions
-SOME benefits covered after a few months 
-IF you press and bother multiple management and HR long enough (even after showing positive striving business practices) you may be promoted from within 
-RRSP matching and dental available (however not until a longer period of employment is reached)
-Going above and beyond for
Christmas Parties, yearly company excursion and vendor BBQ days

Cons:
-One of the lowest and slowest wage increases out of all local electrical distributors (for at least my area of expertise)
-Unethical business practices through the pandemic to obtain more financial gain at the expense of their employees
-Benefits not fully covered or even at 90% for basic essentials, some benefits not available until 1 year of employment (RRSP/Dental)
-If found to be a successful candidate to be promoted from within it takes a substantial amount of time to move to that position. Some have waited as long as a year plus
-Most training is completed by self guided modules and not by a training representative of the company 



They told me when I interviewed for a role below what I had experience for that people progressed quickly in their company and that I would only be in a lower role temporarily. Then when I started they then told me it would take years to advance to a role I already had years of experience in. They will never give you a raise and if they do it will be around 30 cents and it will only be because you threatened to quit. They pay well below average and it does not matter if you have experience and schooling.

The only thing they can identify as is a family culture. Unfortunately there is no all including culture. You’re either part of the Gerrie family or you feel like a second class employee. It doesn’t feel like the family trusts their employees. At times the family/owners can be extremely patronizing and suspicious.

A company where the job description is as vague as possible to get you to do as much work as possible for as little pay as possible. 
From day one, I was rushed into the position without any training and immediately receive hate mail and insults from my co-workers. It is a company that requires you to ask as many questions as possible, but punishes and criticize you for doing so. 

No career advancement unless you are a relative or favourite employee. 
Very old, traditional ways of working. 
Pays less than competitors. 
Lots of employees content doing the same job for years. 
Family run company, family heavily involved with how business is run.


Manger is a joke.
They lie about been able to advance and wage increase after your probation or anytime really.
A lot of favoritism.
The Gerrie owners are very good people.
HR is not for the ppl at all they don't address any issues or problems everything is swept under their big rug.



If you're single and under the age of 40 your pay structure will guarantee that you will never be able to afford a home. The elderly staff are paid very handsomely and do very little of the actual work. The younger employees are expected to carry all the weight and are not compensated fairly.

If you are a top performer and your manager does not like you, you will be fired.
There are many fantastic employees within the company however their contributions to the organization are largely unrecognized.

It’s nice and helpful people working with them.You work at your own pace and management is helpful and supportive.A typical day starts with loading your vehicle and ends with delivering all of them

It was a good company to work for But the bigger problem is with the people  In  the head office.  think of the guy's in receiving they are working hard and they  need to feel appreciate when big boss comes to the office they sometimes forget about the guys in the back that's not cool
