A typical day: 
Waiting for opportunities to tutor that rarely arrive (at least within a reasonable commute as you are not compensated for travel time - the company will show you an opportunity even if it's a long commute). Once you have an opportunity you'll have to make a pitch/presentation for a prospective client (sell them a package of tutoring hours). You later work those hours at agreed upon times with the client. Afterwards, you enter your hours into the system to be paid by the company (every 2 weeks - they pay with no issues). You work completely on your own with no supervision, so at least there are no annoying micromanagers to deal with. 
Advice:
A competent advertising/marketing team would fix this whole company. The job is good for experience, and it teaches you a lot about sales and tutoring. However, once you learn these skills there's no reason to stay, as the pay is low and inconsistent. 
In short: 
A good learning opportunity for new skills (ironic I know), but not a job that will financially support you. My experience with the company was very positive, but that was because I didn't need the money to survive and I didn't stay for the long term.

With working at GettaTutor, I have learnt so much about myself. It is the type of job where they provide a massive amount of flexibility so it is great for those who like making their own schedules. I am a University student, so I can create the schedule around my classes. This job also helped me conclude that I do want to become a teacher, which is a characteristic that I am super thankful to have received. I feel a large sum of success helping other students with this job, which makes my work even more rewarding. I cannot recommend this job enough to current University students who want to make some extra cash on the side of their studies. 

You get to basically pick your own work week and who and when you want to tutor. Management is great at helping you out really quickly and effectively. There isn't really much for benefits but the pay is good and you get to pick your own hours. There isn't really much for advancement but you wouldn't really expect there to be since it is tutoring. The software used for scheduling is really easy to use and very intuitive.

I was hired by this company as a full-time student looking for part-time work. I understand that the nature of the job is that employees may have to travel to tutor is students home, but during my interview, I was told (almost threatened) if I didn't take jobs that required me to travel far initially, I wouldn't be given any jobs closer to my home in the future. 
I agree and my first tutoring job required me to commute an hour (there and back) for an hour-long session. 

The hours were maybe one hour a week for the first two months, and so I quit.  
The company never paid me after that. I never received a paycheque while I was working for them, or for what they owed me after terminating my employment.

Very good part time work for university students in addition to another job or just as pocket income. Management is excellent and reliable, expectations and other relevant information are made clear. The hours are very flexible too which is great for working around classes.  It's very fun to work in a job that makes a difference since the students (in my experience) have all been interested in their studies/engaged in every session and it's wonderful to watch their academic progress. I personally love working for this company and would recommend 100%, I see myself working here until I'm completely done my university studies. 

As someone who looks at teaching as a passion and not a profession I love meeting and providing that support for each student and family GettaTutor has provided me the opportunity to work with.  

GettaTutor.com has great staff and they provide a professional relationship with it's tutors and clients.   The company offers complete flexibility for its employees (hours are usually dependent on the student, but I didn't find it conflicting with work or personal life).

The experience has been amazing.

GettaTutor is a pretty good place to work.  The hours you work are flexible, but definitely a bit slow at first since you are the newest employee.  You have to wait for new students to be assigned to you, so if you join the team on an off season things will take awhile to pick up.  Management is pretty quick to respond to questions and concerns, and will provide tutoring resources if you ask.  Overall its a pretty relaxed environment and allows tutors the freedom to structure their teaching efforts however they'd like.  

I started working for Gettatutor only 3 months ago, and it's the most rewarding job I ever had. I enjoy having the freedom of choosing how many hours I want to do in a week, and how many students I want to take on. I LOVE working with the kids and helping them, it's super fun and lighthearted, I have never been this stress-free in a work environment. We're always having fun while learning! 

The management is amazing, they are always here when I have questions! I would 100% recommend this job to anyone who loves school, teaching and learning as well.

Great place to work.  I have been working for GettaTutor for over 5 years now and I have always gotten paid on time.  Every year they get me more students than I can handle so I have to politely decline them.  I just wish I had more time.  I tutor both online and in person for them.  Great management that don't micromanage me at all.  

I love setting my own hours with students.  It works for me and it works for them.  The company keeps sending out students to all of us and we get to pick and choose which students to take on.  

Its the best part time job I have ever had!  Sometimes students who are struggling can be a challenge to work with but I like helping them.
