I am a present employee of Giraffe foods and Beverages, Mississauga. Let me be honest to review Giraffe foods, undoubtedly its a excellent place to work, your co worker get along with you easily, supportive co workers, routine work days are normal to work not hardened unlikely other places , yes its fast pace work environment but you get help when you have to go beyond your limits, Supervisor and Manager’s are easy going, they appreciate your work and give thumbs up with gift card, Management is so powerful at Giraffe foods, they very well managed the Company, about two years ago Giraffe foods awarded for “Canadas best managed company”. Workplace culture is enjoyable,nice and good. Company pay is good, they never forget your birthday and send a birthday wishes with gift card , they awards you for your hard work, pays Christmas bonus, paid vacation days as well as  three personal paid days,annual family gathering summer party, separates employees holiday luncheon,and many many more advantages and benefits. Owner of the company and VP is down to earth. You get a chance to meet them during annual bbq gathering and they treat you very well. Due to my job nature I have to often communicate with QC people for samples delivery,shippers, receivers, supervisors, managers,accounting department all of people’s have good work ethics and professionalism. If you want to learn and grow then this company is best for you.

Very fast paced environment and rapidly growing. There are many things to be learned which is great but instead of increasing the head count the work will be stacked until you do not care about your deadlines anymore. 
The owners need to realize that they are no longer a small company. The biggest issue that they are somehow blind about is that they do not have structured human resourcing. HR needs a boost as there is zero flexibility, no care for employee culture, and no job analysis whatsoever which leads to workload imbalances. Many of the managers do not have adequate experience to be in their position, but have stepped up there as they have gained trust. This needs to change; you cannot just give someone a higher role because you like them, PLEASE have their skills fully analyzed and make sure they are qualified to be in the position by a human resources personnel (this means you need more people in HR and stop outsourcing the work). If you need the money, accounting needs to step up their game and work together with other departments as there are many holes where they are losing their money. Sales also needs to stop wasting internal resources on less important projects.

Depending on what team you work for this place can be either hit or miss. During my time here an entire team left. Some people left and had no jobs to go too but were just tired of the day to day stress. While every job comes with stress this one in particular made life miserable. The systems in place are very dated which make it difficult to finish and effectively track work accurately. What makes it worse is the clique like mentality that this workplace holds. Its a dog eat dog world unless you are in with the clique. Managers listen and react to gossip as well as partake in it. Coming to work hoping to do your utmost best is everyone's goal however in such a childish environment its impossible. Several employees here are very unhappy with where they are career/personal life wise..this takes a toll on any what they bring to work each day. Hopefully with the new owners being from a clear professional background they will clean this place up.

I am still working here from last two years just because the attitude of permanent employees and management towards temporary workers is good. They took temporary employees from different agencies like Randstad, MM and Proactive which pay different wages to their employees. Proactive is suitable for students, where MM offers only to work permit holders and they are paying fair in comparison to permanent staff. They are helping company to train new workers and get them hiring in the company, as MM is working like their sourcing company to provide appropriate manpower.

Dont waste your time here this is a very unprofessional place to work, the system is old and out dated, next to no training figure it out as you go, allot of connection issue making it hard to get simple orders picked staff are not following company procedure making a simple job 10x harder for the next person, management comes and goes when they feel, unhealthy favoritism work environment dont try and voice your opinion on better ways to get the job done this company is stuck in there old backwords ways they will never change you will be let go for giving your opinion on ways to get the job done better.  If you like being told what to do even though you know its wrong and being disrecpected by incompetent mangment/staff that are not fit for perpose this is the place for you. 

The work hrs is longer than any most other jobs 8.30 hrs. Total break is just 45 min instead of 1 hr which should be 30 min paid 30 min unpaid. No free coffee, health insurance is a joke with employee paid a portion.. Manager cares so much feels at a point of micromanaging. Other than higher management all people are from a specific race who would grab any job to survive in the new country..Not sure how they become the best place to work for  with such a minimal benefit to the employees!!! 

Communication was very minimal, the company hires people that don’t communicate well, I didn’t understand anything that they say because people were eating their english words and could not even create a comprehensible sentence.

As for the packaging area itself, it was a very toxic environment and people are going to sabotage you if you at of the same ethnicity as them. The area was always dirty, the QA department were not following proper PPEs (one was showing chest hair), it’s surprising that a company that handles food is even this dir

The supervisors are helpfel and fair.In general you will find your co-workers get along well and will be supportive.There will be times when your job can get challenging and extra effort will be needed to finnish your tasks.You will find your extra efforts will be appreciated by management,and will not go unnoticed.Very good company to work for.

There really is no culture, no respect for the R&D employees, half the time you will be washing dishes from presentations, which would have been okay if you were working as a dishwasher but not as an R&D Scientist, no communication, severe micromanagement, no free coffee let alone anything else, there is absolutely no job security. Do not join this company. 

I currently work at Giraffe and think it's a good working environment. I am friendly with my coworkers, so that helps on the really busy days. Some days are easier than others to do this, but overall, it's a good place to work. The company is growing and improving, and the managers are open to suggestions.
