Global Credit & Collections

-A typical day at work would consist of answering phones and emails, and hitting targets and deadlines given to me by Presidents, Vice Presidents, Directors, Managers and Supervisors within the organization. Constantly using Microsoft Excel, making spreadsheets, distributing client information to employees so they have the ability to work and make their daily phone calls to consumers.
-Being that this was a financial environment, it has taught me a lot about being financially responsible myself, being that I have worked there from a young age, it avoided many possible financial issues I could have had.
-My co-workers are friendly , which made the last 4 years working there pleasant for me. Going to work everyday knowing that I make a difference within my employment is rewarding for me.

Dealing with customers that haven't paid their credit card bills or student loan. I dealt with the CIBC clients. Dialing out numbers and leaving them messages to contact me back. Allowing the customers to realize that there are different payment options. I have learned to make the customers understand why it is important to pay off their bills. Co- workers were all nice and friendly i got along with all of them. I enjoy helping customers that didn't have enough money to pay off the bill by giving them a monthly pay off plan due to their financial problems. The hardest part of the job was when customers don't pick up their phone or hang up on you. 

To work at a collection agency you need tough skin. The clientele you deal with basically hate you because you are bothering them to pay their debt. Day to day we would go through files and call debtors and assist them in clearing their debt. The hardest part of the job was getting yelled and cursed at mulitple times through out the day. It was nice helping the debtors who actually wanted help clear their debt. The managers there are very helpful and hopped on the calls to make sure the debtors received all the help they could.

Work life balance was non existent.  They expect you to work extra with no compensation.  Often when they would let people go, their responsibilities would just get redistributed to the staff that remain.  No room for advancement or opportunities for education within your field.  Problems would be reported but nothing would be done about them until they became an issue with a client.

It was a great experience working as a credit collection officer. I got to meet different people, learned how to cope with customers and maintaining a good tone to provide great customer service. Learned to work in a fast pace for example, multitasking being able to talk over the phone and doing all the written work that needs to be done.

ok place but not the best. had many human resourses related problems that remained unresolved when i left.  Too many staff complaints over human right

it was a good way to improve my knowledge but the schedule was too stressful. Therre no room to improve or grow within the company . I loved dressing casually but there is more to life

Management seems fair, the team you work with is the people that support you in your everyday activities. Pay could be better also long hours sitting!
