Global Excel Management

I worked for this company for years and was the top employee for years. Everyone came to me for everything. My original TL recommended me for her position when she went on maternity leave. Instead, I got a new TL and a new auditor. All of a sudden, I was somehow the worst-performing employee. They regularly change workflows and processes, and expect you to keep up, even though they change things weekly. They don't re-train you, they simply send out an email and expect you to follow that without ANY mistakes. They preach "it's about the people" yet make you use templates for every single thing that they've removing anything "personal" about the job.  They keep raising how many claims you have to review every day and set a standard goal for everyone, yet everyone reviews different types of claims, and some are more complex than others. Some take more digging and more follow-ups. Which makes it impossible to meet the daily target goal. The pay for this position is astronomically low market pay, especially for the amount of work you do and the scrutiny from the auditor. They continue to raise the standard and workload, but your pay stays the same. The benefits are awful for this being an insurance position. I wouldn't recommend working at Global Excel to anyone unless it's short-term. There is a reason the turnover rate is so high. Work there, get the experience you need for a year or two, then dip! Don't give loyalty to this company because they don't care about you. 

I've been a claims examiner for a few years and I do generally like my job.  All my past and current management have been nothing but encouraging.  They are beyond flexible with hours, can easily leave for appointments any time, move around lunch hours, start and end times etc. as long as you have your 7.5 hours for the day they are happy.   There are a lot of ways to move up, though i have tried a few times and have not been able to, even with the number of extra work I've taken on, this can be a bit discouraging.  Benefits are good but not great, there is no Vision coverage which is needed, they offer virtual yoga classes and some workout challenges that are just for fun.  I personally find it very difficult to get therapy help with the current benefits but they do have coverage for this just certain types.  They have a free therapist you can book time with however they were terrible, they also have homeweb that is free but again its not great.  The one extra benefit that i do love is Maple. Free online app that gets you to a doctor virtually for simple things like prescriptions or referrals, this for me has been amazing, takes 5 mins to get a prescription vrs 2-3 hours in a walkinclinic, and its good for anyone in your household.

I initially had a positive experience working at Global Excel Management, where the environment seemed professional and supportive. However, this drastically changed when I took a leave of absence. Upon my return, I encountered a manager who appeared to intentionally target me, demonstrating unfair treatment and a complete lack of consideration for my disability. Despite my efforts to address these concerns through the appropriate channels, I was met with retaliation rather than support.

Ultimately, I was dismissed after raising complaints about this manager’s behavior. It became evident that the company prioritized protecting the manager over addressing valid grievances, even though they were aware of serious issues involving her conduct. This experience was deeply disappointing and highlights systemic problems within the management and HR processes at Global Excel Management. I cannot recommend this company to anyone seeking a fair and respectful workplace.


Their work environment is rotten to the core, toxic culture but they preach inclusivity as their core value. A very highschool bully type of environment. If you do not fit in they will give you the cold shoulder and withhold growth opportunities from you. Extremely high turnover rate, my whole training group was gone/fired within a year. 

They will also offer you zero support, I begged for help and support for months. I was receiving a barely there spotty following. Until they decided to get rid of me with no prior warning or performance improvement plan. I had a total of 4 days of training for the product I was handling. 

Highly recommend to stay away for your mental health and if you require stability. If you have a disability they will not accommodate you. If you have a family they do not offer seniority based schedules. They treat their own employees like the customers who open claims with them. 

This was by far the worst job I ever had! The management is made up of people who happened to get promoted, so most are on a power trip. The Windsor office (Active Care Management) grew too fast, so the rules change on a day to day basis. You get targeted and belittled and your opinion doesn't matter because only managers can have opinions. The salary is a joke and so are the raises, if any. The benefits are mediocre. They have you staring at a computer screen every day, but don't provide vision coverage. The place has a revolving door because they expect too much from people for what they get in return. Instead of wasting money on so-called "special events" and paying a "party planner", they should put that money towards increasing salaries and providing better benefits. WORK HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

the salary was okay. not too busy during summer.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
not enough staff during winter. expectations are extremely high and some team leaders set up meetings daily just to micro manage what you do. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
very school like environment. have to advise superior for anything you do (bathroom breaks, late breaks, etc..)

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
you take calls all day and have 2-3 meetings a week to talk about performance

For the most part, it depends which department you work in. i worked in 2 different ones. One had very helpful management and lots of team spirit and people to help you. Another i worked in a newer department and management was lacking, job hours kept changing, no respect of the availabilities i had provided even after having seniority at the job. But the teams of fellow employees were always good and supportive.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Toxic workplace. I even brought up serious concerns to upper management and they didn't care.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Unrealistic production targets and having to watch your work start to get outsourced overseas and replaced by AI.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
They did try some team building but toxic people killed off good efforts.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Overworked and underpaid. Very stressful.

No real IT structure.
No documentation on anything (Preocedures or otherwize)
No training to integrate new employees, they are left by themselves to guess what to do, touch or not in a critical client dependant environment.

The only semingly process I have seen is a change management, but without due process on implementation or follow-up, it's like the the unruled farwest when you apply changes...

Employees show great appreciation for their clientele (internal and external) through excellence in customer service. Low salaries commensurate with the market, however not comparable to much higher industry benchmarks. Job security is high for non-management positions. Managers face more scrutiny and an often shorter "life-span". Innovative and intelligent management very successful at driving employee excellence.
