I worked as an HRBP Manager at Global Furniture Group for two years, and it was a nightmare from day one. The job description painted a rosy picture of strategic HR projects and collaborative leadership, but the reality was far from it.

There was minimal support from upper management, and resources were spread thin, leading to constant chaos and inefficiency.

The so-called "collaboration" with VPs of Supply Chain was non-existent. They had their own agendas, and talent assessments were merely checkboxes to them. High-potential associates were overlooked, and talent alignment was a joke.

As for being a "trusted coach" for the Senior Leadership Team, it was more like being a scapegoat for their failures. Leadership effectiveness? More like a lack of leadership altogether. They were more interested in covering their own backsides than fostering team engagement.

The so-called "People and Culture strategies" were nothing more than lip service. Employee engagement was at an all-time low, and continuous improvement was a distant dream. Programs, policies, and procedures were outdated and ineffective, leaving management scrambling to maintain a semblance of order.

Working at Global Furniture Group was a nightmare. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere for employment.

If you are in a position within upper management you may be content but if you are in a office/administration/customer service role it will likely be toxic.

Condescending/Disrespectful Communication is normalized and you will be lucky if you are on-boarded via the human resource department which is unstaffed in comparison to the employee population.

This "family oriented" environment is actually more like a "cult-like" environment. Employees whispering to others about issues affecting their work because this type of feedback was not allowed to be openly expressed it seemed. 

Please do not waste your time with this company.

What is the best part of working at the company?
My position with Global payed the highest salary I have ever received. The CEO (whom I never met) seems to care about his workers.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
My immediate manager didn’t like a single thing I did, and he expressed his disapproval with no holds barred.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Each department is in its own building, so I can only speak to my office. It was freezing, very quiet, and very spacious. My personal desk area was at least 10 square feet. This was a good COVID strategy, but there was no talking to co-workers without getting up and walking over, which often startled the other person.

Guide the new employees properly

A good work environment with friendly people.
The owners seem to care more about supporting their employees through benefits and permanent employment than most corporations these days.

working at global was interesting, I enjoyed the fast-paced environment and precision accuracy when maintaining the system, didn't provide great   work-life balance and management needs improvement.

If you want a position where it's well paid and room for growth don't apply for allwood unless you have no other option.

You will deal with friendly co-workers but expect to get a bad wage.



Used to be great family business, unfortunately no longer. 
if you not related or don't make money for them.... better look for additional place. don't get exited about holiday lunches.

Changes in the company suit the owners and upper management, not the employees. Unless you are well liked, you will not get ahead, got to be with the old boys to succeed.

wouldn't recommend bad management, bad group of people,
they double faced, smile to you - once you turn your back yo you - they will stub you no matter how good or loyal you are
