- Colleagues and fellow sales associates were generally friendly, but management limited team building and cooperation
- End of day cleaning is relatively simple compared to other retail boutiques

- Intensely aggressive management across all retail sites in Toronto and GTA
- Several people walked off the job due to toxic management abuse, workers left in tears
- Scheduling was sporadic with short shifts (between 4 to 6.5 hour shifts)
- Unprofessional conflict resolution
- Hardest part of the job was memorizing how each individual truffle/chocolate was made
- Rude customer responses to overpriced chocolates
- Frequent visits from head office made for very fake/performative interactions with upper management
- Unnecessarily stressful for such a simple sales role

Not recommended at all, even if it is for frivolous part-time work


I love Godiva, the Brand and the experience. It is a very busy environment, therefore time goes by quickly. A typical day is to keep up with standards and deadlines. Coach and train staff to perform in a sales focused environment.  Run the store and remain number  1 in the district!

I have hired the team I now have and have built rapport with them all. I think the hardest part of this job is keeping up with all the expectations that are required on a daily basis.  Although a challenge is good I would like most to work a fairly normal work week. The most enjoyable is the product, and the people that we get to see each day, our customers.

I realize that a very important aspect is missing and that is Work/Life balance. I would like to refocus on that which has always been important to me.

Godiva is not just retail sales.... It's about an exceptional experience. About a passion, having an intense passion for the brand and what you do, and also passing that passion on to the guest. Coworkers are dedicated, and serious about the expectations. The hardest part of the job is resisting the chocolate. The best thing about working at Godiva is putting a smile on every guests face, and providing the ultimate chocolate experience through our decadent products and exceptional service.

One thing that is important to note is that if you are looking to work for the experience, Godiva is the right place to be. In terms of the amount of work you do, the compensation is unjust. The amount of work you do not only as a salesperson but also as a stocker is valued way more higher than what is given to the employees. Commission is not given to employees, and neither are their incentives to sell.

I Really enjoy working in the data Entry, office work as a receptionist or others, that's what I am looking for and will keep looking till I find the field I am interested in, My current work is challenge and fun and I have very good customer service and sales skills also have excellent relations with my manager and co-workers but still not what the kind of job I am looking for

overall a fun places to work. great people to talk to and/or hang out with. on a typical day I would stock up the store and answer questions that customers had. management was okay over all but the problem was that the two managers could never get on the same page if the other wasn't their. the hardest part was knowing which manager to listen to. the most enjoyable part of the job was just being around my co-workers

A typical day would begin at 9 when I would count the tills and prepare the store for opening at 9:30. Normally it would be quiet in the morning so I would dip strawberries and bananas and display them nicely in the front window. I loved working there. On breaks I got to check out sales in other stores around the mall. I quit in the summer of 2013 solely because I moved to Italy for my LDS mission.

Godiva is one of the best places to work. They ensure you have a work to life balance. Understand when emergencies come up and work with you. They gave a great training program and are always coaching and working with you to make a difference in helping your clients

A typical day at work is helping costumers find what they are looking for and also package products for them, cashing them out and making sure to meet daily goals and being able to do delivery. Along with other responsibilities that come with the job and completing daily tasks

I had a pretty great experience working at Godiva however there was at the time a lot of work politics that overshadowed the workplace and affected the staff but overall its a great company that can provide you with opportunity to thrive and do well
