Golden Beach Resort

I was very excited to work at Golden Beach Resort until I unfortunately found out the true nature of the staff and owners of this resort. I started out working in housekeeping and the manager of housekeeping was extremely inappropriate and disrespectful. There was no constructive criticism given whatsoever, you were basically belittled and made out to feel like you were nothing. I brought this issue to the HR manager which did nothing to solve the problem and the situation just got worse. I needed the money so I stuck it out for four months, but I will NEVER go back. About twice a month or more you would see staff leave and new staff come in because no one could take the way they were being treated. The owners do not make an effort to get to know their staff, the entire four months of me working there I spoke to them maybe TWICE! There is no room for advancement or a pay raise at this resort so do not waste your time. This resort is not going to be around much longer if the owners keep it up.

Golden beach uses people for long hours promising benefits and does not follow through until the end of season. I was hired for a certain area and was stuck doing something else most of the season working only 4 shifts doing what i was hired as. They promise a bonus if employee makes it to november and then closed prematurely! I do not recommend them as an employer. They also fail to report incidences and health code is far from up to par for the restaurant, Being an employee we got to see inside the back end of the restaurant. It was very unpleasant and the staff does not keep up with regulations for prepping and serving food. Meals had a percent off and I still would not eat there. The pool area is always congested, the lake is full of seaweed and everything is overpriced.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part of working here is all the employees, everyone is helpful and seems happy and they look after there employees and appreciate us all. They have our backs we're not just a number to upper management. I really enjoy working here

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Cutting people off at the bar when they've had enough but there safety is my number 1 priority always. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The staff are always ready willing and able  to lend a hand when needed it's a great bunch of people who work at the resort 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I work there weddings and I enjoy making sure we're well prepared and have stock and the bar is set up for a successful evening

Doesn’t matter how well you are or how well you are like there or how much hard work you do there they do not give you any appreciation. They only show negativity. I worked there for several years. I got laid off for every year and this is the first year and the seven years that I’ve worked there They are not asking me to return to work and housekeeping department

Worked here for brief period of time prior to COVID pandemic & never received a call to return to work (which happened to work out since I relocated shortly after shutdowns) 
Every weekend was a different event full of synchronized chaos and happy customers! Management was very welcoming and attentive to staff needs, for example providing an available cottage to banquet staff when weekends events were fully booked and you lived farther than 10km from the resort!

Put makeup on a pig still a pig. overpriced dump, mis managed with no qualifications, 
Everyone hired is a friend of a friend and don't know squat. Beware of electric bills, they make up rates last year, as meters didn't turn, umm black uniforms in summer?  givem a break, swim pool is in dire need of fixing , cuts everywhere and inspectors turn blind eye.un licensed

Loved the customers and the job. Staff and management were personable, friendly and kind. Really enjoyed my time with them. They trained well and have a very good approach to each employee as an individual. They make it easy to feel comfortable and confident and are gentle with new people who may feel uncomfortable or need time to learn

Great place to work. Staff appreciation days held monthly with lunch supplied. An employee is recognized by their peers as employee of the month, given an award and gift.
Owners and guests are friendly, always smile and acknowledge you.
Great team to work with! No micro-management.
New owners of the company and all positive changes happening.  Very exciting time to be working here!

View of rice lake is tremendous value that thats all if you ever want to experience what a jail sentance feels like just work here as mentally you will lose your soul the more you give the more they will take never able to even hear thanks for a good job senior Management's always negative negative followed by negative

Workers are treated poorly and are underappreciated for the stuff we had to do. The owners were never happy with us, no matter how fast we worked it was never fast enough, and the environment was full of catty gossip and housekeepers trying to get each other in trouble. The atmosphere was dramatic and unprofessional.
