... I found that working at Goodfellow in Campbellville to be a pretty good Gig overall. We had days that you really had to hustle to keep up with the order picking and days that you found time to catch up on the little details. My co-workers were a pleasure to work with but moral was poor. Having never worked in the lumber industry, I learned how to handle new materials and could apply my extensive skills and talent to the everyday requirements. 
I found that the management would rather turn a "blind-eye" or ignore problems in the workplace, for the most part. They used scare tactics   and belligerence to intimidate or "cow" the employees into submitting to their wishes.
The hardest part of the job was dealing with the elements. Its either brutally cold in the winter or blistering hot in the summer, but thats Southern Ontario for you, if you don't like it, wait 15 mins. The most enjoyable part of the job was the people you worked with everyday. They were fun, genuinely concerned about your well-being and had great character. I'm going to miss the camaraderie and interaction with really "solid" individuals.

There is no typical day at Goodfellow, there is something different every day and new challenges.
I have learned all the information I need to know about my warehouse. I am sure there are things that I am not aware of but those are not pertanent to my job.
The management is always there to listen your concerns but not always able to address the issues at hand at all times.
I love the people I work with. It can be an absolute pleasure sometimes to go into work as a lot of my co-workers are who like to joke around which makes it interesting.
The hardest part of my job is when I am told that we have stock of some product but then I cannot locate it.
The most enjoyable part of my job is being able to quickly go thru and fill orders and then go help co-workers with their orders or whatever they need my help with.

I honestly wouldn’t recommend working at this company. From what I experienced, they rely heavily on juniors and treat them more as cheap labor than as people they should invest in. Instead of offering mentorship, growth opportunities, or fair recognition, the focus seems to be on getting the most out of young designers for the lowest possible cost. It’s disappointing, because many of us enter the field eager to learn, improve, and contribute, but what we find here is a cycle of overwork with little appreciation.

There’s no real sense of career development, and the environment doesn’t encourage creativity or collaboration. It feels more like a stepping stone for them to squeeze value out of beginners rather than a workplace where someone can truly grow. If you’re just starting out, you deserve better—somewhere that respects your effort, helps you build your skills, and pays you fairly for your work.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Nothing !!! Terrible work environment, toxic supervisors and an overall complete neglect towards all employees 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Walking on pins and needles to make sure you survive another day at the awful work place 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Brutal …. Zero care from your employer about there employees and zero incentive to do good work , because you are only slandered or spoken to if something is wrong or they want to point blame

Typical day at work - I come in and greet everyone with a good morning and get response from 2 out of 7 people. 5 of 7 people were the grumpiest people to work around. 
I didn't learn much there as I brought my customer's and experience to them. 
Management - no people skills, Alberta and east dictates a BC market which they no nothing about
Co-workers as mentioned - unfriendly / grumpy
Hardest part of the job was the stale, cold environment in the workplace
Most enjoyable was the Sales Manager (Shane) and the warehouse staff.

The company mistreats people very badly. That being said the employees there are some of the literal best people i've ever mt in my life made some good friends there. the job itself is rough hard work but you gain a lot of muscle and people are always willing to help. The management would sometimes com in and steal your paper work and replace it with new paper work so always photocopy and keep a binder for yourself as they tend to try and blame you for office mistakes. Other than the one issue above the company wasn't that bad

This place has to many issues to mention. But here are a few. Horrible benefits, zero safety standards. Even the safety reps have unsafe practices. Surprised nobody has been killed or very seriously hurt yet. Very poor management. Pay is ok but to get a raise here you need to get your knees dirty. Huge amount of favouritism. If they don't like you then you may as well not even exist. Broken promises and when you ask about it, all you hear is "I'll look into that" but you never hear an answer. Just do yourself a favour and stay away.

Management only looks out for themselves.  You are considered just a number.  Forget about a raise.  If a raise is given, it is under a dollar, no matter your performance.  Own transportation is required, no bus route available.  Experienced potential employees start at the bare minimum, barely above minimum wage.  Employee turn over rate is about 2 months.  Not recommended!

Rather make jobs harder than spend a few more pennies. The boss I have literally spends his day with his feet on desk and texting on his personal phone(not allowed). However he has no problems saying how lazy we all are and need to get things done faster.

Fast paced work environment with help when you need it.  Good team players in each department.  Most enjoyable part of the job is assisting customers with whatever they need.
