What is the best part of working at the company?
They’re a terrible company to work for, especially if you’re female.. They expect you to be available 24/7,even on your days off. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Constantly being told you’re not performing when your store has never done better!

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very stressful , constant criticism.  Outrageous expectations. I was asked to attend a meeting one morning at 6:00 am to suit someone in Toronto, I didn’t start my shift till 10:00 am!

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Retail basics and filling ecom orders which are timed!

Typical Day: sell products through out the day, count inventory, and make the required end of day transactions. 

I learned to be patient, work with people with different mind sets, and deal with satisfied and dissatisfied customers.

Management is flexible, understanding, and open to discussion.

Co-workers are very friendly and down to earth and we work well as a team.

Most enjoyable part of the job is helping people find what they are looking for.

Hardest par of the job is counting almost 2000 units of inventory each night.

I worked for this company for over 10 years. This company is just starting from bankruptcy.  Ths president has taken over from sinking ship to sinking ship. Get out fast. There is no job culture whatsoever. This ship is sinking hard and fast. When the Americans want there money back from thier investment back this will cause significant hardship. This company should have never purchased Tip Top 20 years ago and are still paying for it.

It’s hard to say good stuff about this company after seeing how they treated their staff time and time again. Their untrained management allows for a toxic workplace and I would strongly avoid working as anything lower than a management position. I would avoid this place at all costs.

Horrible company to work for especially the e-commerce ,,upper management are all inexperienced and always asserting there power over you ,,they dont take accountability for mistakes management makes and I learned not to bring the mistake to there attention because they will remind you that they are in a higher position and try to intimidate you and bully you  ,, they dont appreciate employees with a higher IQ ,,they only appreciate the type that are as dumb themselves 

In principle the Organisation has a very positive mission statement however it falls short on delivery when it comes to employees.

Being acknowledged, appreciated, and rewarded needs to be as important as taking care of customers to motivate employee contribution, productivity, and thinking outside the box.

A big positive is the organisation is sensitive to personal situations and will accommodate a genuine need if the occasion arises.

Employees must be aware 'one can't keep the cake and eat it too'.

I personally worked as a part-time sales associate and as a part-timer, the pay is not very good as it's just minimum wage. So, if you're looking for a good paying job and you can only work part-time, this is not it. If you can work full-time and you're great at sales or with people, then you could have a good career with this company. What I personally really enjoyed about working here is the experience that I gained from it. It allowed me to grow professionally but also as an individual.

Company as a whole is good. Product is great quality, Company values are great. The pay is not so good and advancement doesn't happen even if you qualify for a promotion with experience. Even when you bring in customers and money to the business. Grafton doesn't care about how much money you bring in,  they only care about stats,  if your numbers are not up to standard,  regardless of the reason,  you get written up

GFI employees cling to an old school mentality, where they fight change and innovation. New ideas are frowned upon. Most of the day you are sitting in meetings watching others read off their notes which is basically a ploy developed by the employees who have been their 20+ years looking to avoid doing any work.  They market themselves as being this All Canadian Company, yet their CEO is flown back and forth from the US and their clothes are made in Cambodia.

Day-to-day operations in the store are low-stress and it can be very fulfilling to help customers. Culture among store employees is okay, however the company culture among upper management is very toxic. They will micromanage their store managers, not recognize hard work, and only see customers as numbers (ie. wallets on legs to be drained). Job feels unstable as the company cannot retain managers with how little they are being paid.
