Current Employee in the trucking division. 
I've worked for several trucking companies in the past and Graham Bros. is one of the better ones in the construction field. Our boss / dispatcher is VERY supportive of the drivers, friendly and easy to talk to when you have a question or would like to discuss an issue. 
Very friendly place to work, high morale, paid yard to yard, on time pay, vacation and stat holiday pay paid twice a season. Equipment is well maintained and jobs are fairly local.
Over all I would give Graham Bros. an 8.5 / 10. 

ONLY con.... Work is seasonal with 8 - 9 months a year working.

This was my first job of this style. I loved working outside and the variety of duties assigned. I also loved the lifestyle of working away from home, long hours and getting to return home with many days off in a row. The best part was the salary combined with overtime and a living out allowance. The safety awareness in this company was very impressive and comforting. The other great thing about this job was the diversity of my co-workers and the camaraderie. The most difficult part of this job was when it became overly physical....having to bend over to pick debris constantly could become quite taxing.

This is a very good and well established company with lots of long term employees. The only problem is that they sometimes run short on work and have a lot of guys layed off for some time and even go elsewhere to work and then it leaves us scrambling to find qualified employees to train and replace the others. Again this year we have a shortage of work and too many employees still at home and others leaving. Graham treat their employees good and have great training and safety awareness classes frequently.

-Typical days were early and did not work during rain. 
 
-learned a great deal about road construction and design

-Managment was great and always looked after you

-Workplace culture was always about safety first and then efficiency

-looking for gas pipe lines was the hardest part of the job, as caution was needed to insure that excavator operator did not break into them.

-Seeing the end result of your labour

Graham Bros construction Is a great learning ground for any individual looking too break new ground in there career or them selfs. I have been with Graham Bros construction for 2 years. I have picked up many skills , that I can then use in the future on a daily basis.

It was an amazing experience and Understanding and great. The owner was very old school of handling his business and staff. Who cared for each of us and respected us and treated us like family.

with other contractors from around the world

It’s a pretty good place to work. The guys on your crew are pretty good. But like any place there’s a few bad apples. Most site superintendents are good. There’s a couple that treat you like dirt.  But all in all, not a bad place.

12 hour shifts are very fast base. work is steady reason of leave is ran outta work and shortage of equipment work is always going with matting and crop damage.

Learned a variety of work experience for example waste management cell.  The only downfall was their machines were old.
