It was a really boring job. Over the whole summer I probably saw the park super about 8 times. Managment is poor and unprofessional, mostly working nights sometimes until 5 or 6 in the morning and sometimes you only get 8 hours in between shifts. The pay sucks and doesn’t make up for half of the things we deal with sometimes. Training was almost nonexistent and a joke. There’s a lot of immaturity between staff and the senior guard didn’t know too much. This place is only good for note taking and patrol practice. You’ll mostly have to deal with drunks and noise complaints which is good practice talking to people and figuring out what to do. Still not worth being paid only $1 more then maintenance staff. Also you’ll be doing a lot of maintenance work, sometimes more then security duties. It’s also our job to clean up after maintenance or else we get in trouble. During the day maintenance has all of the trucks so you’re taking a mule that doesn’t work or walking. 

I like my work because it has a different variety of jobs.  I work outside and inside. I operate the back hoe and dump truck, I have my AZ license.  I also help with the lawn cutting at times. Some days it is beautiful and others not so much. Everyone I work with is awesome, very hard working people and down to earth.  But I feel I would like to be more indoors.  My job can be very physical at times.  I am looking for a position were my body will not be over exerted every day.  I love working with people and also enjoy my time alone.  
I miss working in an office environment and would love to get back into that field.

In a typical day, we would do some irrigation work, pruning, weeding, and some general maintenance on the property (mowing the lawn, tilling the field, etc.). I learned a lot about different types of trees and how they grow and the importance of staying on top of your work so nothing gets away from you. The management and workplace culture were both great, very happy and lighthearted place to work. The hardest part of the job was pruning for long hours alone and the most enjoyable part was learning to drive the tractors.

Working for the GRCA in a seasonal position is a decent opportunity for students. While the work itself may not be related to your degree it has opened many opportunities for my former coworkers and I. 

You'll encounter many irate and unreasonable guests as well as some incredibly sweet and generous people, as well as getting to spend your days in nature. 

Many employees are quite young, which can lead to some moments of immaturity. 

Seasonal jobs at the GRCA are worth looking into. 

They had a great schedule made for each month, switched up coworkers every few weeks so i got to meet and speak to everybody. They never had you doing repetitive tasks for long, if you did mowing one day and would rather not the next day it wasn’t an issue. The pay was good and they had a minimum of 40 hours a weed. Overall it was a great experience working for the summer at this location. 

One of the best summer jobs I ever had honestly. Talking to campers and helping them out when necessary, driving around a campground in a truck and making friends while you work. Of course there are rough nights. We broke up some fights... Almost got IN TO fights... But staff and management where all amazing. Management was PARTICULARLY supporting and is un-contestably the best employer I have ever had. 

I was hired as a summer student in 2019. It was the greatest experience I ever had. Bosses care about you as a person and it shows. The job has meaning and a purpose and they will always help you to become a better person and achieve your goals. My contract ended but I loved it so much I am seeking a position to return in a new role as soon as possible.

Processing business data and spatial data, integrating data and system, develop database application, GIS application, web-based application or servvices both for business application and GIS application, maintaining the database and application. Work in multi-department team environment is very challenge and feel great when solve the problems.

Very relaxed atmosphere, everyone is very nice and easy to work with. Everyone is willing to help out. Pay is very good to start. They offer on-going training. 

The most boring job ever. The parks run all season but only have a handful of days that are actually busy. No superintendent present after a certain time so hopefully you didn't actually need training for what you're about to experience. Not what I expected from a professional field.
