Grand West Electric

Gwe was a very different working culture from my first employer.  For the most part my fellow workers were great and most of the supervisors were too.  When there was work it was a very easy company to work for.  The upper management took care of the of the workers with little incentives like flames tickets, bbq’s in the summer and Christmas parties in the winter.  However over the past 18 months where work in town became harder to come by the culture changed.  Paid breaks were taken away, our employment was held over our head at numerous occasions, it became clear that supervisors had favourites regardless of work ethic and ability.  The company went from a decent company to work for to one that even some of the longest serving employees wanting to leave due to frustrations with the management and culture they were creating

Work was good when organized and planned. That was rarely the case. Culture was terrible. In the time I was there everyone was afraid of loosing their job daily. There was almost no support for apprentices and employees to learn and grow, most were cornered into a specific task and never taught anything new. Zero communication between employees and management,  which included obvious favouritism of their friends despite work ethic and quality of the newer OR more experienced employees.  Disappointing experience.

we started early, finished at 3pm, very good hours to work, at this company i learned a lot about what goes on building apartment buildings the wiring to light fixtures. 
the management where very understanding of your needs and how to get the best out of you the same goes for the co-workers a very good team environment.

Challenging work, great pay, great team, diverse tasks. The owner supports personal education and safety training initiatives. Benefits package is decent.

Great company to work for. The people in and out of the office are all very nice and easy to get along with. The work that was done on site was made to the best of standards and they pushed you to learn more. Great company!

Grand West Electric is a great company to work for. They supply major tools, training and certifications necessary for the job. They take care of their employees and host great Christmas parties!

Working for Grand West Electric was amazing, I was with them for pretty much my whole apprenticeship. They taught me a lot, like terminating gears and panels, conduit bending. The best part of the job was the guys I worked with.

This is a good company that actually cares about it's employees. Upper management tries to be involved and helps out as they can.

Here was able to learn lots about the commercial aspects of the job. Their website has a list of their completed jobs. Good company culture and wages.

I have worked for grand west for a number of years, and I am very thankful for the knowledge i have been able to acquired from this company. They have always pushed me to keep going back to school.
