So many cons, so little time. 

This place had so much potential when it first opened. It was a great idea with a great product. But ownership has no intention of seeing this place succeed. They refuse to do anything for the benefit of the brewpub. They refuse to promote from within and only hire from outside, and then those new hires leave after a week because they see just how toxic this place is, and so this place is chronically understaffed. The pay is ridiculously low, and the tips are abysmal. The hours are constantly getting cut because it’s not busy enough and ownership has no interest in trying to stir up business. The marketing people for the brewpub have a turnover rate like crazy so there’s no consistent plan. The ownership and HQ employees spend way too much time at the brewpub, treating it like their own private sports bar which most definitely scares away any potential customers. Ownership is also insistent on micromanaging without providing anything of value to the brewpub. All the experienced employees are gone and any new, experienced employees leave pretty quickly when they see how terrible this place is. I’m 

There are better places to work. I wouldn’t be surprised if this place had to shut down pretty soon cause of the lack of workers and morale. So if you are considering this place, please read this and reconsider. There are a million better jobs out there and you’re better off at literally any of them.

The owners have no idea how to run a restaurant, and somehow the lack of business is the staff's fault. It has probably nothing to do with insufficient promotion and exposure, the complete lack of interest from head office to get this place up and running. The high management turnover doesn't instill much confidence in the longevity of the business either. But if you are 'hemorrhaging money' as the love to remind us, why not alienate your regulars and force out the long-term staff that have been what has kept your business chugging along? What harm could that do? By all means, continue to strip all benefits from the employees. Speak poorly of your staff to guests and new hires. Ignore any suggestions from people who have actually worked in this industry. It's all about the BEER. Having a subpar product is only going to take you so far. The disrespect for the people trying to sell your garbage IPA's is what's going to be your downfall. 

A typical day working at Great Lakes Brewery looks like such. I would get to work around 9:00 AM and ask my manager what tasks I'll need to perform today. This usually consists of packaging and labeling inventory, moving boxes and helping out the retail store where needed. I learned quite a few things while working in my position, such as being punctual, proper work ethic and quick thinking/ problem-solving. All around, I appreciated the opportunity this company gave me and now use the still I learned there in my day to day life.

- Poor communication, things would be promised and then never come to fruition. Things constantly would change without being told to employees
- The way they have their tips distributed is questionable
- Some favouritism does take place, where some employees seem to get away with more than others
- Overall a great team, but wouldn’t recommend to experienced servers 

The management (for the most part) have an old school mentality and decide that regressing to the past is the best course for the future. Seems like the company is more for them than the community they serve. 

Adds multiple tasks with little to no raise.

A cool work environment. Lots of neat events to attend and lots of opportunity to see different venues in the industry. Also, their beer is delicious and it was great to be able to learn about the brewing process. Friendly staff

Great team of people and a superb working environment. Plenty of room to advance in such a small company if you have the right work ethic and show enthusiasm for what you are doing.

Great place to work, Great food. Great bosses and staff 
hardest part of the job was the long hours and low wage so if we arent making money on a slow night we have to tip out our of our own pockets.

It is generally busy during the prime summer months. The staffs are very friendly and interact as a family. The coworkers are very accommodating and its a relaxed environment

Toxic environment.  Poor and unethical business practices.  No promotion from within.  Mgmt has no idea how to operate a restaurant. High turnover.  Good and experienced staff left as they saw this place not good to work for.
