Great White Car & Truck Wash

If you're looking for a workplace that has a poor team atmosphere, and extremely poor management, then this is the place for you. Management seems to not take anyone's critiques or suggestions seriously, and instead takes it personally making it seem that you're just complaining. The expectations of the wash attendants / shift leads, are way too high for a minimum wage position. Management favors certain employees over others. There is a lot of drama and conflict between co-workers and, management is passive aggressive rather and than being constructive. They would rather tell everyone else that you are not doing something properly and put you on blast in a group chat, than tell you personally and address the problem in a professional matter. If you're looking for an idea of how poor the atmosphere of this place really is, the staff turnover is insanely high. In my six months of working, at least 12 employees either quit, or were fired. Safety is not a priority here, the equipment used is not only outdated but is the bare minimum. Staff were required to use broken pallet jacks, even after bringing it up as a safety concern. The chain hoist, was not only inefficient, but was attached to a slanted roof, which is not a great combination when lifting 1000kg bags of wet sediment, that could easily pull you out of the bed of the trailer you were loading them into. If you are looking for a part/full time job, I would strongly recommend you look for other options before applying to this place, if you value your mental and physical well-being. 

Worked there for about a year and a half. Enjoyed applying myself, the variety of tasks and getting to learn the operations. Initially, the vibe was really great. There was recognition for hard work - any petty internal politics did not hamper advancement nor recognition.
Then local management changed and with it, the vibe. New hires were practically all known factors; that is, friends of others who worked there. Evident politicking was occurring. Many sat on their *** and did nothing, and local management seemed to be fine with it. Guess it all depends on 'who you know', just like so many other places. 
I walked off the job when reprimanded for a mechanical issue that had been recurring for months.
Communication is great - if you've been invited into the circle - and you better be of a certain age and disposition in order for that to happen. 
I was called a supervisor, but had no actual power to effect change. It was nearly a meaningless title, but it was some recognition for the work I had put into the place. 
TL;DR - Great place to work if the wash is working properly and customers are happy. When several parts of the wash start breaking down, customers get justifiably upset and then you start noticing all the other flaws with the place.

A typical day would be switching between each section of the wash which is great because you don't feel like you are just stuck in a rut doing the same thing over and over again. It's not a clean job, you do get dirty from time to time. You wash cars, help customers, clean bays and other parts of the wash. As long as you stay busy and do your job, it's so easy to move up in the company; no matter your age or how short/long you've been there. Ownership and Management really show their appreciation for staff. My job before this I was never told or shown that I was appreciated. All the owners had chatted with me about how I was doing and if I needed anything from them that would make things better. One time I was sick for a week and bed-ridden. They sent flowers to my house with a card! I was stressed out because my spouse had gotten laid off during the Covid pandemic. The owners talked to their friends and family seeing if anyone knew of jobs in my spouse's field, sent my spouse job links they found online, and even offered my spouse to do some odd jobs for them. Who goes through all of that for a staff members spouse? 

It's still a relatively new company that's growing and evolving really fast, it's exciting but with excitement there is some pressure. With that said, it's a great opportunity to grow and develop your current skills and learn new ones to help climb up the corporate ladder.
The team is definitely one of the best things about this company. The turnover isn't all that high, and lots of staff have been around for over a year, which isn't what I'd expect with having a team comprised of younger staff members. Everyone gets along, works well together and sticks up for each other. 

I would not recommend anyone to come and work at the Great White Truck and Car Wash. My time period working there was filled with countless drama and gossip from the management side, they pick favourites and really make it shown. Instead of addressing problems, they tell it to everyone there but the person they are bashing and no solutions ever get solved. Safety is not a priority, outdated tools and equipment.. and training isn't proper. I was never taught any safety protocols there with anything, nor was I properly trained on things. A very unhealthy environment, there has been countless employees either fired for no reason or have quit in the same week. All original staff quit in the same week due to mistreatment, problems and drama.

I'm writing this review because I had previously written one and it was taken down for no reason. Middle management is incredibly overbearing and will watch your every move. You are never not being watched here. No matter what you do it's never good enough. You will be made to do work outside what they initially tell you and you will not be compensated for it. Work drama is even worse, everyone gossips about each other and nothing is ever plainly told to the people they take issue with. Not to mention promotions clearly aren't given out based on actual ability to do your job, as proven by the ability of some of the people above me.

This is easily one of the best companies I have ever worked for. They were extremely helpful and considerate when it came to scheduling and management. Any concerns were always taken seriously and taken care of immediately. They take pride in the business as well as take pride in their employees. Owners were there often to help out which is in heard of. Great job for someone in highschool looking for a fun, energetic, caring team that feels like a family. Great as well, if you are a hard worker and want to work your way up to management  

Overall just a great place to work. The hours are extremely flexible, especially for students and for individuals such as myself with 2 jobs. The work culture at the location I'm at is essentially just one big family and everyone looks out for each other. There is the odd bit of drama here and there with customers but for the most part they are all polite. Just a good place to work if you enjoy meeting and talking to new people and pretty much working with your friends all day.

A normal day at Great White is pretty fast-paced but actually really fun. I’ve learned how to talk to customers better and work as part of a team. The managers are great and easy to talk to. Everyone gets along and the environment is good even when stressful. Hot days can be kinda rough, but it feels good being recognized for the work and there is a rotation so your not stuck doing one thing all shift. You get commissions for sales and even reviews.

Very active car wash.  I always had something to do and appreciated being able to provide feedback to the wash manager to help improve some particular small jobs....felt like I got to improve things on a go forward basis.  I really liked working there, and for any other post secondary students like me, it is a good solid place to work while balancing school.
