Green for Life

Terrible company.
Your better off with sucide then working for GFL cause in the end their going to kill you. Company is money hungry and does not cares about the employee, poor mangement and the supervisors conducts them selves in a unprofessional manner. They think your a machine.

Working at GFL was long and hard days of battling fatigue and the weather, but all in all was a nice job to have depsite the work, you got to be outside all day, get lots of exercise, and made you feel like you accomplished a lot in a single day with how much garbage/recycling you would collect

This is a challenging place to work.  It can be difficult.  Working out side in all weather conditions, with long hours and an atmosphere between the management and the employees that is strained.  Many employees do not feel as though they are not appreciated.  Weekends off are nice and you are home every night.

If you like standing for 10 hours a day scooping chemicals and junk into barrels all day this job is for you. I stand around for 10 hours no one talks to me and it’s such a boring job most of the employees have a little clicks they belong to and if your new guy it’s hard to fit in

Worked half days during a the fall school semester.  During this time I not only assisted with the mechanical maintenance of the trucks, I learned the assembly roles of the recycling plant.

GFL is one of the great company in waste management . this company is in the golden time . they expanding in North America.
I have got very good experience in my field (IT) and also I had a chance to work with different waste management applications.

The morale is way lower than it should be. People try to get other people in trouble. Backstabbing is huge within the company. The pay is not competitive with other companies. They try to make drivers do unsafe practices like drive trucks that they are never trained on.

Best job Iv ever had but my work partner would not work well doing his share of duties. I found myself doing far more than my half of the job almost every day. This was a very labor intensive job .

High turn over rate, work long hours.... They should pay more and maybe people would stay there longer. Management could use a bit more help and maybe they wont put such a big strain on their workers.

A typical day at work for Green for life consisted of pitching garbage, recycle and or yard waste into the truck. The management and co-workers were easy to work with and helped out with whatever was needed.
