Worked with company as a supervisor. Management expected everyone to keep busy working without materials to do you your job. Numerous times I was told that materials were ordered to keep the workers busy, only to find out I was lied to again. This added to frustrations and sometimes forced you to take shortcuts in order to do your job. You were constantly lied to by management to tell you what you wanted to hear. Management encouraged and awarded other workers to be spies for them. There was constant feedback to the manager of what others were saying on the job, how smoke many breaks and how long you were taking, for example. Management engaged in back stabbing other staff and hourly workers' and made your personal life a topic of conversation with anyone who wanted to listen. Even certain comments made by a certain staff on facebook was quoted by management.
Even if someone does not like you, or even one negative comment to managemnt could cause you not being on the next return flight list.
If you would like to work a the third world company , then go to Schefferville with Grey Rock.

I would go in and the first thing I would do is inspect the Lube Truck to make sure that there was everything I needed in it for that day. i would then do a pre trip inspection to make sure there were no safetly issues. Then I would greese all the equipment before my shift started. Then I would take certain pieces of equipment that the hours were up on. Head back to the shop in the evening and refill the tanks in the Lube Truck and discharging the waste tank into a holding tank.

I learned to always inspect the truck and to chaulk the tires and always tag out the equipment that I would service.

The management were great to deal with, always reminding us about safety also telling us to be quick but never cut courners when it comes to safety.

My co -workers were good to work with they were team players but I mostly worked independently.

I didnt find anything really hard about my job position.

The most enjoyable part of my job was getting to learn new skills everyday, meeting new people and making friendships.

Typical day at work is trying to look busy. No material to work with and picking away at jobs. I learned about motors, PLC's, cable tray, panel terminations, heat tracing, cable pulls, transformers, plants operations, converyors, crushers, basic instrumentation, and various other electrically related work. Management is very disorganized. Co-workers are excellent. Great group of employees. Hardest part of the job is trying to stay busy with the lack of material. Most enjoyable part of the job was in the beginning stages of the project when I was actually learning something.

Forget everything you have ever learned because you will be told everyday that everything you do is wrong. You will be treated like absolute garbage and spoken to like a child every minute of every day. The superintendent will butter you up to get you in the door but it all goes down hill from there, save yourself the time and stay very far away from this place. 

The weather in Schefferville changes alot throughout the day, the people here are very nice and easy to work with. The hardest part of the job is being away from family and friends and having limited communication as internet and phones don't work very well. Being away from home for 3 weeks is very difficult.

They never should have hired the former Area Manager of Health and Safety from Wabush Mine,  He spends on himself and threatens employees.  Poor ethics from the get go.  Company is fair, managers like him ruin it though.  Great con man.

I used to work with a good crew. I learned a lot from them, however, the company itself lacks a lot of professionalism and courtesy to it's employees.

Good Rotation, good rate of pay, great co-workers, flights provided.  Fly in and fly out rotation schedule, 3 weeks on and 3 weeks off.  Great food served.  Friendly environment.

I enjoyed working with greyrock.. co workers were great to work with.. management was good.. my only problem was not working  more than half a year...

Strong work ethic, saftey minded person, hard worker and takes care of company equipment.
