I'll start off by saying if you can work somewhere else other than Griffin please do so. Their job description is VERY misleading and the only "training" that is done is before your departure from the yard to the job site if you don't have any experience such as me which I stated from the interview. When you arrive at the job site you will have no supervision, no direction, and no feedback about your job performance which can be a good or bad thing based on your type of work ethic. My co workers I found to be very hardworking and willing to show me the ropes and take time from their work to show me how to do mine unlike my "supervisor". I found the management to be very lazy, belligerent, and they would talk bad about other employees in the presence of others while drinking beer. The downside of working for this company is they didn't inform me of work being cancelled and me having to drive an hour from my home to the yard on a few occasions so every day I had to text and ask if I was working or not..I worked with some easy going hardworking guys which made working at Griffin fun. Do keep track of your hours other than LMN  which can be confusing and don't rely on a "supervisor" saying he turned in your hours from the GPS because you'll be chasing them for your pay because he won't do it. This was the WORST company I've ever worked for and if being called names behind your back is your thing go ahead work at Griffin.

I have been employed with Griffin for over 5 years now and moved through several positions within the company. This company has grown significantly over these last few years which opens a lot of new doors for existing employees. They also have begun investing a lot of money into employee training, adding more management, and new equipment to make life easier for everyone. Every employee has an annual review where you can speak your mind about things you would like to see change etc. and also negotiate a new pay range if you have added to your skill set throughout the last year.  I have also seen the owners and managers do everything they can to help employees through all kinds of issues, personal or otherwise. I have worked for several Landscape companies throughout my career, but this one is by far the best. 

When I first started at this company I was so hopefully and excited to take on more responsibilities until it got to the point of them taking advantage of that. You don't get quite enough pay for the amount of  work you do all year round and even when they "negotiate" a pay raise its still not worth the amount of work and Hassel you go through on a day-to-day basis.

Everyone there is only looking out for themselves and will put you under the bus, you'll maybe have 2 people you can actually trust. No real team players.

This is one company that DOESNT give you a winter raise like other landscaping companies do.



Always had a blast working in the winter with Griffins. Our winter seasons seem to be getting shorter but all in all the time spent working with the crews and doing yard work is always fun and a great learning opportunity. Training is provided for every piece of equipment you use, and you are also given training on how to use LMN crew and GeoTab (log your hours worked and hours of service if you are the driver).

Summer its from Sun up to sundown ,6 days a week..no overtime..your paid under agriculture labor laws..
Winter..it's an as need job..it snows you work..it doesn't...you don't..don't call management at night ...Unless its something huge...be ready to be dehumanized,overworked, under appreciated, not respected...but expected to smile and do your job...

The brothers are the owners and they have temper tantrums often! They make sure that their personal property are cut and landscaped but want you to be quick with the customer's properties.
Lots of work to be done but the company wants you to be as quick as possible even asking you to speed in traffic to go to the next job site.

As a T10 mechanic I found the shop small .lack of inventory was a problem ,counting  everything you used  took more time then it was worth.
Company is getting into areas of work that they have no experience.
Company doesn’t know true cost of heavy equipment repair.

it is a fun place to work and all around a great company to work for. especially when you get some free food on the fridays that you get paid on. but i would have rather get paid on thursday instead of friday but it was nice to get paid then have two days off.

At first I was happy but as time passed things changed they promised me a position and then they lied to me they are not a serious company for me they play with the employees

IF YOU'RE THINKING ABOUT APPLYING FOR GRIFFIN'S LANDSCAPING THINK AGAIN DO NOT APPLY HERE THIS PLACE IS A JOKE AS I'VE WORKED HERE EXPERIENCED IT ALL. Equipment is unsafe, always breaks down management is horrible always act like you're not good enough
