Management and culture is positive and supportive. A typical day starts early, as you prepare for the cleaning, and is very rewarding seeing the client satisfied with your labour. I learned much about managing my time and implementing step by step plans in order to coordinate my work orders. The hardest part is running into hard to reach, rusted or overall difficult surfaces, all it needs is extra elbow grease. Most enjoyable part is finishing a clean and taking a moment to appreciate your clean.

Workdays go from 8-3ish 5 days a week. Typically I drive to two locations during that time and inspect + deep clean one BBQ at each location. Gas is compensated to each location but not home at the end. Management is chill and respectful, definitely helpful, but I feel like I didn't get a lot of training before speaking to customers alone. Hardest part is just being outdoors on hot/rainy days, but being outdoors is also a perk when it's nice out. Good for independent people who want a simple and rewarding job.

I worked with my friend over the summer and Really loved all the work. Managers were great, pay was good considering it was one of my first jobs. Some customers are very generous and provide tips on jobs. The company does ask you to upsell equipment but it is not imperative in any way to your work. I did get let go prematurely after 3 months and that would be my only complaint, as I was hoping for a full summer job. Overall they were very accommodating, super nice and I'd definitely recommend working there if you don't mind getting your hands dirty. 

I have been with the company for over 3 years now and I can say that Grill Hero has been a great place to work. I have learned many new skills and I work with many great people!

If you are looking for a workplace where you will gain lots of sales experience with plenty of room to grow, or if you're looking for a job and you enjoy being outdoors and don't mind getting your hands dirty I would recommend Grill Hero.

Management always has your back, and you will learn not only professional skills but many personal skills as well.


I clean two grills in a day by myself, driving to residential areas. I have improved my cleaning skills and have learned how grills work. I keep in touch with management often and they perform fine. So far I've noticed the team is supportive. The hardest part of the job is drilling away at stubborn grease, while the most enjoyable parts are wiping, polishing, & seeing the grill turn fresh.

Great at first. 
-Relatively easy work, no micromanaging and you get to work with a friend.
But then...
-Upper management is very unprofessional and disorganized as you would expect with a company run by university students.
 -They unexpectedly laid off a large portion of their workforce 2/3 of the way through the summer without any notice. 
-Unapologetic and refused to take any responsibility for their actions which resulted in many students being out of work with no time to find another job.

Grill Hero is the perfect place for anyone who is looking to work hard and steadily rise into higher positions. As a growing company, the supportive management team significantly rewards hard work and dedication to improvement and collaboration.  Definitely a dirty job, but worth it as long as you enjoy working independently and spending time outdoors in the summer!

I had a great time working with the BBQ Boys during the 2023 season. The role as crew leader was tough. Especially on hot days but certainly rewarding at the end of the day. Management was very responsive if I had questions and always discussed the opportunity to advance into different roles. Overall a great experience all around. If you are personable tips are your best friend!!

The territory management position helped me gain valuable interpersonal skills, and the independent nature of the position emphasized the importance of developing my time management skills. A great company culture that enables personal growth and makes you feel a part of the companies growth. 

I worked a summer in 2020 paired with a great friend of mine. 
Difficulties: The work was tough, it's long hours of cleaning outside. We averaged 3-4 BBQ's a day. A decent amount of driving was required. 
Benefits: The customers were all super friendly, it was rewarding to transform the BBQs, it's completely autonomous, you're outside all day and management was amazing. 

If you have a good partner it can be a lot of fun
