GroupHEALTH is an awesome company to work for! Management and supervisors are approachable, friendly and always on your side cheering for your success. The company fosters growth, ongoing learning, sense of community, team building and work-life balance. Employees have "happy Fridays" where they receive every other Friday off. The hybrid role (most employees) is 3 days work from home and 2 days in office. There is a company physical trainer and gym on site, an amazing lunch room with espresso machines, ping pong, couches, light food options for purchase. Additionally, there is a dedicated office training team you can reach out to whenever you feel you might need extra support or clarity on policies, information and software use. Support from other staff is always available through Teams group chats. Work load is heavy and can be stressful. I often felt like just when I thought I was getting caught up there was yet another stack of tasks to do. You need to be proactive and take initiative in this role to succeed and be acountable for your work. You should be comfortable with the use of multiple computer systems and a great multitasker. It's helpful if you're great at retaining information otherwise you will constantly be looking things up which could make you feel like you're always behind. If you're looking for a corporate type of career, this company is doing a lot of things right to ensure employees feel supported and equipped to handle their role as well as support a true work life balance. 

I've been working with GroupHEALTH for eight years, and I've advanced my career several times.  GroupHEALTH values the investment in people and promotes within when possible.

The company is willing to look outside the box for creative solutions to the rising cost of group benefits.  We have a client focus at all times, and work hard to resolve issues as quickly as possible.  The company is growing quickly, and this at times creates increased work loads, but this is a good problem to have.  Great job security!!

The Happy Friday program that is available with most positions, gives employees the opportunity to have a better work/life balance.  Parents can now volunteer in the classroom and for class trips, and not feel left out of school activities. Dropping off and picking up  children from school on Friday is a real highlight for staff.  We work an extra 30 minutes and then get every second Friday off.  On the Friday you do work,you get off 30 minutes early.

The company has grown exponentially  and was once an exciting place to work with endless growth opportunities.  The corporate environment has slowly changed from believing that their people were their best asset, to profit being prioritized over everything.  There are strategic decisions being made at an Executive Level that are not sustainable.  There are people at high levels of management with little experience in a mature organization that are making important business decisions.  There is a real sense of operating from a place of fear in the company's largest department, and toxic work practices have become the norm.  It is a real shame that the company took this turn.  It had many bright, talented people with big ideas who were "bought in"... they've all since left.  The culture, which was once recognized as one of the best small-medium sized companies to work for in Canada, is a relic.

It has been such a pleasure working for GroupHEALTH so far. They ensure your on-boarding process is thorough, provide guidance along the way, and the majority of the people have taken the time to get to know me personally which I have been quite appreciative of. I am a big supporter of work-life balance and I have found that here. They do not just advertise this aspect of their culture but live & breathe it daily. This place is definitely for those that are looking to put their best foot forward, work in a fast-paced environment, and enjoy the ride along with their peers. They have an amazing happy Friday program which truly allows you to slow things down a bit and catch up on your personal life. People here generally are looking to support one another and making sure everyone is on the same page.



I have been with GroupHEALTH Benefits for less than 6 months, but I already feel that it is an excellent place to work. I come from a very large company where I spent 6 years of my career, the culture there was incredible and it was not easy to leave. Now that I am finding my place with GroupHEALTH I know that I have made the right choice. I no longer commute an hour to get to work every day (only 10 minutes!) and the culture here is nothing short of amazing. This team celebrates even the small successes (with cake) and promotes community and a healthy lifestyle. There is definitely a work hard play hard attitude, the work is challenging and enjoyable. My plate is always full, yet balance is very important. Would strongly recommend!

I started at GroupHEALTH late 2017, fantastic place to work! Healthy work environment, wonderful employees, great on-boarding process.  The company has a very leading edge product and they are ahead of other companies in the industry as far as implementing the appropriate technology to support growth.  I feel this company will continue to be successful because of the combination of an excellent product, coupled with their focus on employee health and happiness!!  Employees are the greatest asset of an organization and too many companies are forgetting this in our current day and age!!

The job itself can be stressful but that is true for any sales job.In my experience the culture GroupHEALTH says they try to promote simply does not exist in the New Business Development Department. There are shortcomings in the training and certainly in the leadership arena. The Manager is lacking leadership skills and there seems to be no will to change this. The turnover rate illustrates this . There is a long history of complaints that have been reported to HR and yet no change in manager.

There are some inefficiencies because they provinces GH is in operates in different ways based on Employment Standards per province but you have two people doing the same work and one getting more based on not adopting one policy for all.

Advancement options are there but do take time.

Salary is competitive. Benefits are decent. Only thing I can see as more appealing is returning to remote a hybrid should be optional not mandatory.

Management is great! They show appreciation in a multitude of ways not just a verbal good job here and there and no follow up.

I've been with GroupHEALTH for many years and it just keeps getting better. The culture is fantastic, and everyone is so supportive. The company is constantly growing and evolving and there are lots of opportunities for employees to try new things and learn about other departments. This also means that things rarely get stale as there is always a new opportunity right around the corner. Senior management is very approachable and open to hearing thoughts and suggestions from everyone within the organization. Overall a great place to work.

If you want office politics and the gossip that comes from an all female management team, come to GroupHealth and you'll find it!

Management has eachother's backs because they are friends, and do not get penalized when they screw up over and over. Promotions are handed out like candy, and they think the only way to make a person stay has to do with offering more money ONCE the person is unhappy and wanting to leave. Some management are protected no matter how they treat others, where others are penalized for the smallest things.

My apologies if this sounds rough, but it is the truth. Something needs to change otherwise GroupHealth will continue to lose all of its good people.
