This job is not for an individual without thick skin.  I was hired in September 2021 with little to no experience - I explained to the hiring manager that I had no experience as a Service Advisor.  I was told that it was fine, and that they had no problem with training from the ground up. Boy, was that ever a lie.  I was essentially thrown into the fire and expected to learn on the fly with little to no assistance.  Fast forward not quite two months, I had never had to take a mental health day at any of my jobs until I started with Guelph Hyundai.  Two days after taking a mental health day, my employment was terminated.  Coincidence, I don't think so. 

TL:DR - The position pays reasonably well if you are mentally up for it.  If you have to take a mental health day, don't expect to be there very long.

If you apply for this position don't expect much for pay.  You will be offered an entry level salary from 10yrs ago($33,000) annually.  You will be hired as an Advisor but won't find out until your first day that you're also a warranty admin, which is a 30k a year job and a car jockey.  The Service department is understaffed for daily tasks but made sure to hire two Service Managers.  One that sits in his office all day and the other to micro manage you.  As a veteran in this business I would not recommend this place to any EXPERENCED Advisors.  This is the place one gets their start at being a Service Advisor and them moves on when experience is gained. 

A typical day at work was setting up displays, Meeting Customers, determining and showcasing vehicles of interest, and presenting purchasing and financing options.

This position provided sales training which I have found to be a helpful experience, and thoroughly enjoyed.

A commission base enviroment highly dependant upon traffic was challenging at times, but also a time where co-workers worked together entertaining and challenging each other to maintain optomistic and positive spirits.

The hardest part of the job was closing a sale- The best part was when it happened!

Automotive sales is a demanding job. If you don't like working long hours its not for you. The job pays straight commission and no salary so you must be willing to put in the effort to earn a living. This occupation can be very rewarding if you put in the effort. Every day is different and you must be able to think on your feet and problem solve. The hardest part of the job can be self motivation and the most enjoyable part of the job is seeing the fruits of your labour.

Guelph Hyundai does not care about a work life balance. If you are not willing to bleed Guelph Hyundai, don’t work here. They also do not pay you for what your worth, and empty promises are what they believe in most.  As for job security, they have no problem throwing you out with the trash when you start to see the way they truely operate.  Overall, if you’re looking for a job that you will eat,,
 sleep and breathe for, and work hard with little pay at, Guelph Hyundai is the place to work.

For the most part a typical day is many ups and downs.
The hardest part in juggling 5 managers needs at one time although can be quite fun and challenging.
The most enjoyable part is when we have dress up days or special days which are planned in the office. Employees get right into these types of days which really brings up company morale

There are too many managers in the workplace.  They do not communicate with each other.  When the Dealer Principle does not like you be ready to look for a new job as he hires your replacement and makes you train them.  They lie to your face and you have to fight for anything you want. 

At the time i worked here it was family owned still so upper management wasnt great. My manager as well as the rest of the department managers and formen were great to work with and the rest of the employees were too. Only downside was weekend work but thats every dealership.

You wanna do your home work before working at this dealership if you are looking for a sales position. their sales are very slow. but very clean dealership . it is one of the nicest in the Guelph auto mall

Terrible management they lie and negotiate everything you will never get a raise there is always an excuse and it never has to do with you nothing is in the budget unless it sells new cars
