When  I worked here as a server the hours were terrible because of the two hour split shifts and I was definitely not paid enough for it to be worthwhile. 

Also the way things are run is highly disorganized because the seniors basically dictate all that goes on since they are allowed whatever they want. This means that one must drop everything in order to make changes to meals, bring them back or retrieve special orders. This in turn sets the entire kitchen behind and causes chaos. 

In addition to the poorly run kitchen the employees themselves were very unpleasant and generally stressed and/or angry the majority of the time. I found the environment to be very hostile. 

I worked here just under a year and I can say that I would never go back. The only good thing is the flexibility of hours because there are many other employees with whom you can swap shifts.

I’ve really enjoyed my time working as an Administrative Assistant at Guelph Lake Commons Retirement Living. The work culture here is positive and welcoming, and I feel valued as part of the team. My colleagues are friendly, supportive, and always willing to help, which makes daily tasks much easier and enjoyable. Management is approachable and communicative, providing guidance and feedback when needed. Overall, it’s a great environment to grow professionally while working with a caring and collaborative team.

	•	Honestly, I haven’t encountered any major drawbacks so far.

The management has since changed since I worked here. When I did work there, there was never enough servers to get all the tasks done on time. The entire shift, I was rushing and racing to get things done. I am a very fast worker and still did not meet their needs. None of the other servers met the UNREASONABLE needs of the management that was there when I worked. Dress code is the following:
- hair up in a bun (neat)
- white bra, white tank top
- wear the accordion fold shirt they provide you
- black dress pants (NOT fitted)
- non-slip shoes
- black apron (they provide this)
- black bowtie (clip on; they provide this)

None of the servers are allowed to write down the orders of the residents, at all.

This job is one you would keep for a couple of months but not a year. You would get really fed up working there because a lot if not all employees will talk about you even if you are there. It can be hostile depending on the people working the shift and not really professional. They decide to put up shift lists a day before and don’t notify you if you are supposed to come in early enough. It’s good for young people starting to get into the work industry but not one you should keep for long.

I was positioned as a waiter here, this job was quite stressful because we had management yelling at us for seniors complaining about the food when we weren't the ones cooking the food, also if a senior may have forgotten what they ordered and we bring them what they wanted they fight us saying they didn't order said food. I was only working twice a week for 2 hours and that wasn't near enough the amount of hours I had desired.

The only thing I enjoyed about this job was the residents, the management was always pushing you to make sure you got things right, you had to remember 4 different orders with memory only no writing down things, which would make the job alot eaiser

if i could mark them negatively i would. they are hiding a bed bug infestation from the people who live there and have no problem firing people illegally. the managers are cpmpletly unsuited for the job theyve been given seeing as theyve never done jobs like this before and the gm is a petty unprefessional little woman

My schedule would be switched around multiple times with little to no warning. Very understaffed, meaning you have to work doubles frequently without being paid overtime even though its at 13.5 hour shift. The residents are very nice and enjoyable.

All the residents are super nice, not usually super picky about what they eat and the people I work with are generally nice. It sometimes is frustrating having so many managers but they are trying there best to make everyone happy.

Management are very rude to the staff. You must find your own coverage for shifts. They will book you when you are not available and will force you in. Managers talk to other staff behind your back. Overall it is just very stressful.
