You would think that a company that puts you through tests and online assessments in addition to 3 interviews would be more professional.

The building/office is severely outdated and in need of renovations. 

Business culture there feels like they are way behind on the times. They have rolling filing cabinets all over the place and use more paper than any company I have ever seen. They have boxes all over the place.


Work hours are ok. Your typical day time office hours.


Management is well below average. There is very little in person contact and it feels like you are alone and have no support. The turnover rate is astonishing I have never seen so many people come and go at one job before.


In the end, you are much better off holding out for a better job because in all honestly, Gunther Mele does not deserve you

It's always hard to re-enter the workforce when you're an older person, but I was fortunate enough to be given an opportunity by Gunther Mele. The place is NOT toxic, but it's always hard to find your way in a new work place with so many new people to get to know, and it can be intimidating, but that doesn't mean the people are toxic at all. It just means it's uncomfortable at first because it's new. Lots of new things to learn about products and machines. Pay is minimum wage but it's dayshift and we're done at 3:20 p.m. I feel that  most of the production team and upper management have treated me kindly, and I'm glad I hung in there. I have made new friends, the jobs are decent, and I'm glad they took a chance on hiring me.

My co-workers at Gunther Mele are my second family. My work day starts at 8:30 am and I am greeted with “Good Morning” from not only my co-workers but also the president of the company. We are all part of a team that genuinely cares for one another. 

Every manager is approachable, knowledgeable and friendly. I often find myself collaborating with managers from multiple departments to brainstorm and problem solve. I have learned many things from all of them. 

Over my several years with this company, I have been part of many positive changes. The main focus is always the customer and I am proud that Gunther Mele has never lost sight of that. 

I look forward to many more years being apart of the Gunther Mele family!

Over worked, under appreciated. Unrealistic expectations. Management who does not even know how their department functions (cant answer questions or ignores). No proper training provided as most managers don't know the positions themselves.

Management will not even speak directly at you, rather with backs turned or via email. 

Advice - go somewhere else. Although they package it up like a nice deal, its not worth your sanity. The disorganization, dysfunction, and disrespect from management not only to employees, but to each other.... 

The turnover in the last 12 months speaks for itself.

Little to no training provided. If you do something wrong because no one showed you the right way, they make a show of it and then give you a bare minimum explanation with extra attitude on the side. I’ve had my trainer walk away from me and refuse to answer my questions because she was frustrated. The people in my department are rude and openly make fun of you and others daily. Couldn’t wait to get out of there. For minimum wage, this is not worth your time. 

You don't get paid minimum wage when you start and when you have bin there for 3 months you pay union fees 
But if other employees don't like you they will fire new employees it works by how long you bin there to have say for anything 
Everything is old school 
Lots of drama mostly old people working there if you don't do it there way you have problems but yet there is no set guidelines of how to so things very hot in there too

I worked as a shipping clerk it is a very easy job and pretty relaxing compared to a lot of the more labour intensive job out there. Good place to work for someone with little to no work experience. Pay is minium wage. Its unionized so raises are a couple cent a year everyone gets the same raise, no yearly evaluations.. co workers are friendly and helpful
Overall a good stepping stone till you find something better

My day starts at 7am and finishes at 3:20pm Monday to Friday.
I learned to be contentious of customers wants.
I take great pride in my work and supervisors respect my opinion. I get along with most of my co-workers and that is why I enjoyed being on the social committee for 25 years.

This company has a great product - very easy to turn into a packaging expert! however the lack of competent management - this place needs a makeover.  It is a very high turnaround place, and everyone thinks it will get better with time but the last few years have been a disaster. Anyone with seniority and real product knowledge left.

I enjoyed working at Gunther Mele's seasonal store because they always had me doing different duties around the store. I enjoyed helping the customers carry items to their cars and doing minor projects here and there for the displays around the store.
