What is the best part of working at the company?
Location to home, benefits, team

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not permanent, not knowing where you will work next and/or how many hours you might get on a weekly basis

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
As custodian, it is a very "singular" role however, there are some occasions where you work with a colleague that makes the experience much more tolerable

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Cleaning/disinfecting & maintaining the schools after the daily or special event activities (after school program, community rentals, weather) includes all classrooms, staff rooms, washrooms, gymnasium, change rooms, etc.

The people you work for and with make your day. Getting to be a small part of what makes the kids safe and hearing about their days, giving advice, seeing their smiling faces and helping them succeed even if just in a small way by listening when they need an ear makes every day easier no matter the stresses going on around that. It would be great if there could be some form of job security and a better compensation or to be eligible for benefits like everyone else in the board gets so we’d feel valued and like part of the staff but even if the only thing we could get was job security from year to year that would be enough.

Holidays, Christmas, March Break, Summers off.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Poor management, disorganized board office, lay offs, low budgets, actions not aligning with Catholic faith.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Most colleagues in the school are wonderful. The board office and administrators have earned a terrible reputation for themselves.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Managing disgruntled parents, overcrowded classrooms, short staff, poor behaviour with little to no consequences.

What is the best part of working at the company?
pay and benefits some teachers are very nice

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
some teachers keep their classrooms a mess and dont care

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
full of lazy half assed people who dont even do the bare minimum

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
not to bad except for the rooms that are a complete mess, and lazy cleaners who start at 330 and are done and have their feet up by 430

Too many show horses and not enough work horses. I did not feel valued or appreciated in the time that I worked there. Management seemed dazzled by the show horses and ignored me, the work horse. The salary increases of 1% did nothing to my morale or bank account. I would not recommend this Board is you want to progress in your career but if you are a lifer waiting on a pension then this is the place for you.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Nothing! It was a very political experience.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Everything. It focused more on politics and creating camps than education.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Poor . No people skills. A culture of division.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I’m retired and haven’t worked there in years.

What is the best part of working at the company?
School staff is dedicated to students well being. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Decisions made by board staff, trustees, etc do not always align with student and family needs 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Positive and inclusive for the most part at the school level

Worked 8-4 Monday to Friday
Computer skills enhanced my daily office functions
Worked with Principal and staff and students
Constant interruptions but great because it was not routine
Working with kids daily

A typical day at work is fast paced, can change on a dime according to needs.  As an employee you have to be alert and ready to act in order to keep your student safe from themselves and others safe.  The most enjoyable part of the job is my student learning something new or having a successful day without behaviours dictating our day.

Best organization.  Location of schools is the best - the cities are close enough to one another that applying for a transfer isn't that big of a deal when it comes to commuting.
Salary is awesome. Principals are supportive. Communities and demographics of schools are respectable and don't vary too much (social-economic)
