A typical day at the company involves a combination of individual work, collaboration with colleagues, meetings, and professional development activities, all aimed at achieving organizational goals and delivering high-quality results. The specific activities and tasks will vary depending on the role and responsibilities of the employee within the company.

I enjoy working at the Halton District School Board.  Every day is a bit different then the next even though the duties of the job are the same.

I like that it is sometimes fast paced & other days are busy just working on one task.  Either way, there is always more than enough work to do (which I like because I like being busy).

The environment is very casual & easy going.  That's not to say we don't work hard, but the atmosphere is relaxed.  All the departments work together so everyone gets along with everyone else.

I personally love working at the Board Office because it is close to home & I can even come home for lunch & never have to worry about rush hour traffic.

The position I hold is an Accounting Clerk / Project Co-coordinator. This is a very fast paced position & you have to be able to multi-task under very little supervision.  I have to make sure each clerk has enough work to get them through each day & because we currently have 5 AP clerks, & only 1 of me it can make for some very hectic days some days.  But for me, I wouldn't want it any other way.
I love fast paced, multi tasking, organizing, filing etc.

What is the best part of working at the company?
It is one of the best board in the Ontario . I am so happy that I work this board . 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Very hard to get in permanent position. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Halton District School Board offers a supportive and inclusive work environment with strong professional development. Staff enjoy good work-life balance, though competition for roles—especially teaching—is high.



What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day at the Halton District School Board involves working collaboratively with colleagues, supporting students' learning and well-being, and adapting to diverse needs. The pace is steady, with a focus on communication, planning, and fostering a positive, inclusive environment.

My typical day at work is making sure the school facility is secured and cleaned.  I enjoy making sure the school is top notch for the students and staff as well as helping the children or staff when asked.  I work closely with the principals and head caretakers and ensure all projects are completed before the end of my day.  The hardest part of my job is when I am tired towards the late hours of the evening and am completing my work as I work afternoon shift and usually finish at midnight.  The most enjoyable part of my job is coordinating projects with other caretakers and working together as well as when a teacher, principal or head caretaker tell me their room/school looks great and that I did an excellent job.  That makes me very happy and proud to work for the school board.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Supporting growing learners. Also it is nice if you are a parent to have summers off. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not enough support in classrooms. I’m an ECE, there is no room for movement with additional AQ courses.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Multicultural and somewhat inclusive. It is heavily focused on on professional development opportunities in school 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Morning outdoor duty, lunch duty and sometimes after school duty. No preps,
Classroom all day.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Renewing school projects according to the repairs and renovations made in the field. Providing projects for renovations in school projects.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Keeping track of too many school projects at the same time.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Coworkers are kind and helpful.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
If you have the desire to work, there is so much work that you cannot finish even with a busy work tempo.

The students that I work with are remarkable and very special.  i know that they are never going on to college or university so my goal every day is to make sure they have the best day possible and enjoy their experience at school  it is important to reinforce skills and to provide encouragement, support and boost self esteem.  
Any frustration I may experience is with other adults and not with the students.  This is very rewarding work.

The work environments are excellent. Management is very poor as they do not believe in the students and micro management staff and students. Any staff that believes in the students abilities they choose to dismiss and get the Union involved.  The management skills are very poor and do not respect all individuals. Insulting people that do not believe in their micro management values. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Nice environment and all the staff are awesome. Fair to everyone.  Great to work at Halton District School Board. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
For me, nothing much. As long as you know and you love what are you doing. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Great environment and they are good in diversity.

I work in the Human Resources department with the Halton District School Board.

The culture of the organization is positive - we are all here to inspire students to learn, grow, and succeed. Our Board is collaborative and leadership is supportive.
