I enjoyed working for Halton Recycling, this was a regional contract for residential waste and recycling for the huge Halton Region contract covering Burlington, Oakville, Georgetown and Milton. I progressed through the ranks to eventually end up being the lead front-end driver and also performed Roll-off duties. Halton Recycling was also the contractor that handled all of the recycle material for the Region, this was done through a huge plant that handled single stream recycle material.

Halton Recycling gets a bad rap in the industry, however to be honest the facts do not support the reputation as far a working for them goes. I was able to start at the entry level position and rise to the top level job over a eight year period. Ignore the politics and just do your job, you will be fine.

They are cheap and don't hardly give raises. Little pay for the work done. And no real appreciation for the extras that they ask you to do.  And they canceled the Christmas party that they used to have when I first started working there 

The company met many challenges in the community but the facility manager then remained positive and optimistic that the company's technology will eventually assist in reducing the emissions.

 enjoy working there it was a good company. There was a lot of growth going on at the time I was there but everything usually went fairly smoothly when we all pitched in to steer it in a good direction

Big warehouse with no heat. During the winter months it is not a pleasant environment to be in. Role was sorting through garbage and recycling. Did not feel secure in my position. They expect an awful lot for minimum wage.

Fair place to work if your a good worker, and the workers and foremans at the time of my employment were all desent people.
