I enjoyed my time working for Handy Housewives. They took the time to train me in basic cleaning procedures - how to get the rough an entire house systematically, efficiently, and thoroughly to extremely high standards.  

I experienced one-on-one training sessions, guidance by team leaders through inspection and constructive feedback, and was provided client feedback as well.   A comprehensive guidance document was provided to me and team leaders were available to answer questions whenever they arose. I definitely felt taken care of while learning how to do this job.

It was extremely satisfying and fulfilling to enter a busy home and leave it sparkling and fresh.  The products and cleaning supplies Handy Housewives use are of top quality and gentle on hands, noses, and the environment.  They have an amazing clientele  who truly appreciate a clean and tidy space and are happy to show it. Though routine, the work was very engaging and the day flew by.   One-off jobs and team cleans mixed things up a bit and were  a lot of fun.

It was my experience that Handy Housewives appreciates their employees  and treats them with respect. Work schedules are flexible (with notice) and management is good at communicating changes and accommodating last minute upsets.  They operate with integrity and treat both clients and staff well, often going above and beyond for people.  

Learning how to clean with such high standards has elevated my personal standards as well, an impact that will be felt for a lifetime. I am so glad I joined the excellent team at Handy Housewives!

Handy Housewives is the longest running house cleaning company in Saskatoon. The owners are thoughtful, thorough and passionate about the work they do. They train in home, and run through everything the staff is expected to do in a home. It is detailed work, and they hold to a standard of excellence that ensures the clients will be ecstatic about their clean homes. Their mission is to give families peace of mind about their homes so they can worry about one less thing in their busy lives.

Extremely high expectations for a starting wage that’s low. As having prior cleaning experience I felt as if my cleaning was not up to their standards. Understandable as I know the owners want perfection, but to an extent It can come across as mean. There is a way to give people the advice and support they need to help them succeed without making them feel as though what their doing is not enough. 

There is no proper break, your break is driving in between clients houses. If you are finished your houses early you cannot leave. Very physical work as expected and can be very satisfying if you love cleaning. The staff members were for the most part lovely and helpful!

Handy Housewives is a great company to work for. Employees receive training and lots of support from the management team as well as the owners of the company. They are always there to help and to make sure you excel. Hours are flexible and can be adjusted to suit your needs, as the owners are very considerate of your work-life balance. There are part-time and full-time options available. The company consists of amazing staff and they are a fun, supportive and encouraging team to be a part of. Great clientele. It is very satisfying to leave a client’s home knowing you could make a difference in someone’s life. 

The owners are incredibly passionate about their business and really make you feel like part of the family! If you were like me and came from other cleaning jobs who didn't have such high standards then you will have to be patient with yourself and the boss' will always be there to support you. The job is very pysical so be ready for that! Over all I had a great experience and would recommend this job to anyone who enjoys cleaning and takes pride in their work.

Cleaning houses is super satisfying and rewarding but the owners are very unprofessional and don’t respect you as an employee. They expect you to be able to work on very short notice and will not work around your schedule. They also expect you to be on call during days off too. There is also no proper break as you are driving to the next house during that time. The clients and coworkers were great but the owners are incredibly disrespectful to their employees.

If you are only used to cleaning your own home then you will find it hard going at first but management and staff are there to help you. Clientele is a big part and once you get to know them it’s so nice to go into their home knowing you will make a difference. Part time and full time is available and they will work around the hours you need. Very flexible! One of the best jobs that I have worked and only left due to health issues. If you enjoy cleaning then this is the company for you !

They expect everything to be perfect. No feedback is given on how you are doing with how they want things. If you arent on the supervisors good list you are nothig to everyone. They dont give proper breaks and expect you to clean without one. Nothing is ever positive only the bad is mentioned. Full time hours are not given even though you are suppose to be a full time employee. Sketchy owners, no guidelines foror proper training. Its a complete jke!

This company expects so much from you with no respect or anything given back. Long-term employees quit and it is a toxic work environment. 

If you do not suck up to your boss or supervisor you will get treated poorly.  I am not talking about being nice, I’m talking truly sucking up. 

No support from anyone. Do not voice concerns as it will get used against you. 

This job was great for working with customers however we didnt always have the opportunity to interact with co workers. The rate of pay was sub par, for the amount employees contributed. I did enjoy the physical aspect of my work day and left each job with a sense of reward.
