If you are looking for a career where your hard work is met with respect, or a workplace where you can actually communicate with your colleagues, you need to keep scrolling. This facility operates on a culture of exclusion and a management style that values compliance over competence. Before you apply, ask yourself the following questions:

Do you want to be happy?
Happiness in a workplace comes from a sense of community and safety. Here, you will find neither. The "bully atmosphere" is palpable from the moment you walk onto the floor. Because English is not the standard language of communication, you will spend your shifts in total isolation. You will watch groups congregate and talk about others in their own language—specifically Tagalog—to make them feel low and excluded. It is a hostile environment where the "outcast" is anyone who isn't part of the preferred inner circle.

Do you want to feel valued?
In this plant, you are a number, not a person. Management has a recurring habit of bringing in new hires and expecting veterans—the ones who actually care about the standards—to train them. Once you’ve handed over your knowledge, you are often phased out or replaced by the very person you mentored. Your expertise is treated as a temporary resource to be drained and then discarded.

Do you take pride in what you do?
If you have a strong work ethic, this job will break your spirit. When you try to bring things up to the standards they should be, you aren't rewarded; you are penalized. Management views an employee with high standards as an "annoyance" because it forces them to acknowledge the flaws they would rather ignore. If you care about quality, you will be made to feel like the problem.

Do you want a good work-life balance?
The physical and mental toll of this job follows you home. You are consistently overworked with production goals that are virtually impossible to meet. Management, led by a Plant Manager who frequently relies on half-truths and a lack of transparency, will move the goalposts whenever it suits them. You will leave your shift physically exhausted and mentally drained, knowing that your hard work won't even be recognized unless you are in "management's backpocket."

Do you want fair pay for your labor?
The compensation provided is nowhere near enough to justify the damage this job does to your well-being. When you factor in the high-stress environment, the lack of communication, and the favoritism that blocks any chance of moving up, the paycheck simply doesn't add up.

The Bottom Line:
Unless you are willing to play political games, endure a culture of bullying, and sacrifice your health for a company that doesn't value you, simply avoid this place. It is not worth the toll on your life. There are plenty of other opportunities out there that actually reward integrity and hard work. Don't let this be the place that burns you out.

My stay was short but very eventful. Departmental communication and bonding was very very poor. Nobody knows what is happening, when it is happening and why anything is happening in my department.
I would have suggested a lot more of departmental meetings and meetings to get my department more organised and more productive.
Overall, it was a place I saw the real practical influence of communication on staff productivity, time and cost efficiency.

Good place to work, lots of benefits including meat bonus, meat in the lunch rooms, a well managed maintenance schedule and allows you do do things in downtime and keep yourself busy, some overtime when things go down but that's part of the maintenance job, it's not everyday. They allow a good home/work life as well. 

In Harvest Meat there is a great emphasis on good manufacturing practices and that all the food produced is of very good quality.
it is also given a lot of support to maintain a culture focused on safety for all employees, constantly providing training on the subject and providing all personal safety equipment, suitable for employees

Enjoyed my time at Harvest Meats, only left because my wife got a job somewhere else so we moved. Overall I have only good things to say. Benefits and meat discounts are excellent. Supervisors are friendly and patient. Lot's of hard working, kind, and knowledgeable workers. Plant Superintentent and HR care about their staff. The days fly by, always busy and lots of overtime if you want it. 

The culture is phenomenal. Harvest is a family-run business and it shows in how many families actually work at the company. Lots of perks like popcorn days, staff BBQs and lunches, and Christmas parties. 
There is a reason Harvest has been around for a long time and many employees stick around for a long time too. They are treated very well.

They always had work available and they always paid on time. The work environment however was not great, a great deal of the workforce have their own groups, they like to talk behind each other’s backs and they will push you quite hard to get all the work done.  If you need a consistent paycheck and like to work hard it can be the place for you.

I thought this was a great place to work. For a first time job, or in need of a change, this is a career you must try!! Friendly staff and management to work with, questions always answered, and always able to learn something new everyday

Washed equipment, learned about chemicals to use and also learned how to properly clean. Hardest part was managing cleaning room my self 3 hours before crew came in. People I worked with were good and most enjoyable part of job was finish cleaning a big machine.

Don't work at harvest. Poor management. Very clicky especially night team. Simply just don't wast your time. Most or the individuals won't speak English to you and will point with their face rather then showing you what to do.
