HCL Canada is subsidiary of HCL Tech ltd, good company to work as contractor, have multiple clients in canada.. Salary varies, company management is mostly South Asian, culture is diverse with canadian locals and offshore india teams. Work time balance is good as hcl management is supportive for employees. Annual appraisals not fair, no one bother to see the employee performance on timely basis and encourage them to succeed in goals. HR not met, no calls in four years. Just hire and staff at client. Trainings is plus point (HCL has partnerships with Microsoft , IBM, many more companies )

They bought us up from another company and after 8 months I still don't know what HCL stands for. Zero sense of belonging, no information on corporate culture and a complete lack of engagement from HCL management. A more unscrupulous metric chasing company does not exist. If you are crazy enough to work here be prepared to work without integrity or any sense of doing the right thing. Run away from any of their job postings as fast as you can. You won't never regret it. 

If you get laid off, you need to contact the managers you know right away to see if they can relocate you to another project. 

Also, it is difficult for newly hired people to do so because most of them work from home with no iteration with managers. 

Another downside is working based on India time for meetings with teammates working over there.


HCL is more concerned for their shares than  how the business is run it self. They don't care about their customers neither their employees. No salary hikes.
They have nice offices in Moncton and they allow you to work remote. However, they give too much expectations that at the end are not real.

Nobody knew what was going on within HCL. Our managers could not get any answers to their questions. All of the people who transferred from Xerox did not know what was going on and the transition was not smooth.

No Process, no acknowledgment for Talent.

Job at client side was a good learning experience but don't have a very good image on the client

HCL is one of the best company to work for. Friendly work environment, chances for growth. HCL encourage team work and customer first approach. HCL has the best benefits so far I have in Canada.

I worked for HCL as a IT consultant and IBM Tivoli Storage manager Administrator, the qorking experiance was great and I spend good time and enhanced my skills.
