Speaking on wages it was excellent and the jobs were very vast and complicated so it’s good if you like to keep your mind busy. 
However the work culture is very deceitful and betraying since there is no moral there, the first thing I noticed is everybody will act like your friend but try to undermine you every chance they get and this was in all the departments I encountered.
The pension program is very ineffective so the only way you can retire is if you’re good at investing outside the company.
The training of what is expected from you was very poor and the job training was very lacklustre.
For a company that will hire practically anybody with no experience they expect quite a lot from you despite their inability to train thier employees properly, so if you’re not perfect you won’t last 3 months here. 
It’s actually very easy to get written up or fired here because it’s a Food Processing plant, if you as much as sneeze or have grease on your clothes from the Job. They can send you home and end your employment. Way too uptight for my liking and it’s a very tense work environment overall.
Conclusively the only thing good about this job was the pay, while everything else was terrible in general.


Schedule for work is only shown one day in advance. If you want to know if you can plan things on the weekends, you will have to wait until Friday afternoon before you will know if you're free or not. There is very little opportunity for a personal life if you work at Highbury Canco.

Management is very sloppy. Expect everything to be pushed onto you as a new worker, with little to no concerns for your well-being. Production will run regardless of the strain it will put onto you and your co-workers.

Break rooms reek of vinegar fumes + whatever else is being produced that day, and cleanliness in break/food areas is effectively non-existent, with management doing nothing to help with this.

Overall a terrible place to work. You'll be underpaid relative to the work you'll put in. Hard work will go unnoticed by management; there is no company ladder to climb, you are simply a husk that exists to do low wage labour to them. If you care about your own health and well-being, you should try to avoid this place.

Make no mistake, this is a stepping stone company and definitely not somewhere you want to be any longer than you have to. Its a great place to refine and advance your skills in an industrial setting. However, Training and guidance is non existent, you will be thrown into the fire and expected to know how to fix and run their equipment with ignorant supervision breathing down your neck, Safety is basically non existent as well. Bottom of the barrel supervision and management. Toxic doesn't even begin to describe the work environment, some coworkers are good and easy to get along with but majority have their little clique, belittle and trash talk behind your back and they don't even try to hide it. it's like a group of high school mentality grown men, and this stems right from the top, managers engage in this behavior as well. Overall, you will learn a lot here as a tradesman. But you will question why you show up every day very early on.

A typical day at work would leave you feeling like you completed a great day of work. For the tomato season we worked 12 hour shifts and for those 12 hours you got placed where ever you were needed. The hardest part of the job was probably the physical strain it puts on your body, generally you are doing the same job over and over again for your entire shift. The most enjoyable part of the job was seeing the different types of people that you get to work with, some were funny, some were serious and some were even from other countries or ethnicities, but overall the people were wonderful and very welcoming. The management team works hard and helps out whenever they are needed and they are very understanding.

If you are into being overworked and underpaid, where a person who busts their butt and a person sleeping make the same wage is commonplace. Then this is the place for you. From being mental abused and verbally berated by under qualified "new" supervisors to people power tripping on their coworkers they used to be... it is not the company it once was. When asked for assistance to keep production numbers up if your supervisor didnt go to bat for you, you were screwed. The whole buddy buddy atmosphere between supervisors and team leads is a joke. They would just as soon stab you in the back then tell you you did a good job.

The production side appears to be less demanding compared to the warehouse environment.
The warehouse role can be physically demanding and fast-paced. During my experience, performance expectations were quite high, especially during the probation period, which could feel stressful at times.
The work environment in the warehouse could be challenging. At times, communication and support from supervisors felt limited. Team dynamics varied, and collaboration was not always consistent. Additionally, there was no support provided for immigration-related processes such as OINP or PR applications.


Its okay to work here. If its a paste department its usually full of people that are friendly and will uplift your motivation and will help you learn and grasp new ideas about the vast equipment in the department. All of the paste department was nice to me. My supervisor was a fantastic guy, nice humor, empathetic and was willing to teach everything. 
But  but but the rest of the factory especially the main building was full of angry and arrogant people. I will just pray for their mental condition, they were angry for no reason, so pretentious that even if they were nice, its clear that they aren't.
And everyone used to say they are snitches, will talk about you to terrible management they have.

They had me working in paste as the lift truck driver and laborer.  I was overworked and under paid by a large margin.  A typical work day would be me moving a huge pump around that was 100s of pounds by myself as well as the 4" hoses and the smaller ones from paste tank to tank to clean them using chemicals outside in the hot sun all day long. I also used acid and steam.  I was told during the orientation that I would not be using chemicals or doing any of the cleaning.  They also had me moving the hoses and sprinkler heads on top of the tanks on the scaffolding that is 100 feet up.

If you are looking for work they are always hiring due to a very high turnover of workers as few stay for long.  3 shifts that you rotate through and sometimes poor training and very old equipment makes job difficult at times.  If equipment would work as is needed (was maintained and set up better) jobs would be so much better.  You often have to struggle to try to run and do required tasks at the same time.  If more time and energy was put into current employees that are there and keeping them so many problems would be eliminated.  Experience goes through the doors without being passed on and that’s unfortunate as it’s the little things and tricks that are learned from working at a job that can make your job (and others working with you) easier.  

A terrible employer with high stress. Management and HR office are completely lost. It is so bad that they hire lazy workers that dont do anything and layoff the good experienced workers that actually put in the effort. My advice is to just do nothing and be lazy and you will get far in this company. The good employees just go out and find another job as there are many these days paying alot more then this employer.
HR will always respond "we want to hear from you". When tried to give them feedback about how the HR senior coordinator should talk to people they just point the finger back at you and say its your fault.
