Bug infested to the point where they are in the residents beds!
Very dirty, 
people always call in leaving you to work short, no shift premiums and the pay is terrible.
Your only paid twice a month and a separate 3$ covid pay once a month because they are too cheap to pay their workers sustainable living wage to survive.
The owners own this one and Broadview also but they only care about funding their lifestyle instead of caring about their staff/residents or even the home itself.
There are only a handful of employees who actually do their jobs.
They also try and force you to stay an extra 4 hours after your shift is over if an employee for the shift didn't show up which is absolutely ridiculous and not allowed.
Management caters to employees who constantly do show up instead of reprimanding them for their poor attendance and constantly calling in.
They will offer you new positions without giving a letter of hire then without any notice change their minds.
I would never take loved one to be cared for here.

A typical day was filled with crafts and activities for the elderly residents whom lived there. I learnt a lot about the way the world has changed from their days to ours. The management was okay and for the most part very flexible, the co-works were like family and we all worked together as a very successful team. The most enjoyable part of my job was to make the residents laugh and have a young spontaneous person in the environment to lighten things up and have fun with. I enjoyed all the activities and crafts that I was able to do on a daily basis with all the residents and staff.

After almost 2 months of working there I must say that I am enjoying my work. The management is nice, my coworkers and residents are nice. Free food for every shift and discounts at selected stores plus benefits and they increase your salary once you graduated as CCA and every 3 months. If you don’t have any paper yet they also provide papers.

Very good environment to learn, grow and work.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not getting a parking spot to park your car.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It is very accommodating, your senior staffs are willing and happy to teach you.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Sometimes hectic, but it is worth it.

Management tends to favour staff and some staff can really get picked on if they are not favoured.  Tend to work short staffed a lot.  Need to have a routine staffing manager instead of the RN’s always having to do it.  Management will always find something that staff does wrong and will never say anything nice about Registered staff.

I absolutely loved working here. The people were very kind and caring. The only downside is building a bond with residents that end up passing. 10/10 job, I just couldn’t deal with losing people I grew to love. 

this is a reoccuring position due to unrealistic expectations The executive director and director of accomidations are simply not qualified obiously.Staff are over worked and not respected.

At hilltop i was a housekeeper, I loved this job alot actually it brought me great joy working with the residents of the home and getting to know them and hearing all their stories.

I really enjoy having the ability to get to know the residents at work as you are able to build more of a personal connection with them in a way you wouldn’t in a commercial restaurant or larger retirement home. 

Not much room for advancement, but a wonderful work environment. Staff is friendly and easygoing. Management has high but achievable expectations. Low turnover in management, and full time staff.
