A typical work day is loaded with meeting students and staff, developing an individual path for student growth and success. Preparing, planning and presenting materials/resources to students and staff.  Utilizing feedback from students and staff to improve on tools/resources used for student success/support.

I learned the organization is undeveloped in its training/knowledge of culture, race, religion, inclusion and diversity.

The hardest part of the job was leaving because of the underdeveloped workplace culture.

The best part of the job is when I come across past students in my travels currently who remember me, greet me and thank me for my service and tell me, “I could not have done it without you.”

On that note, the ‘island culture’ is not the same as the ‘mainland.’ When I was asked by a staff member if I am a permanent resident, that told me that the lack of knowledge surrounding culture, race, religion, inclusion and diversity was absent in the workplace culture. When I go shopping for example and I am told by a cashier or sales associate, ‘you are from away.’ And this has happened on several occasions. That tells me that inclusion and diversity is not part of island culture.



College Staff, especially teaching faculty are super racist. Mentally harassing nature stresses students a lot. Instructors don't take their work seriously. Money and fees of students at stake because of such poor performance from them. This college is extorting money like scam

What is the best part of working at the company?
People are very supportive and collaborative.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I feel no pressure studying and working here.

I was employed as a student casual worker. The pay was better than other places in a similar role and we were treated well. It was fun interacting with the culinary students and i made some long-lasting friendships in there.

A very productive fun place to work where you get to learn knew things operate different types of equipment's and interact with some of canada top chefs and students been train to be chefs

Great place to work.   The College needs an integrated online and class structure.

Secure large equipment manufacturers partnerships to develop training manuals.

wonderful company and school to work for. Left because of low enrolment numbers in my program.  Full union and health benefits were all provided and great HR dept.

I like to work here, you have all the benefits, they are so helpful, you have a lot of opportunities to grow up and you will learn a lot. I don’t have a lot of responsibility

Cooperative and flexible workplace, and lots to learn. Even though I was a student worker, my opinion was valued and respected. Lots of experience to be gained.
