Way to much favouritism everyone thinks that they are better than others.
Way too much office politics and too many groups of workers everywhere.
Don’t care about students only themselves destroying students and staffs mental health.
It’s the all mighty dollar.
Way too much lying and pretending to be innocent and too much back stabbing.
Hostile environment always looking down onto others.
When you go over and beyond you get yelled at and if you don’t you will not be yelled at.
Stay away ! 

After many years teaching in the Junior Division, I took the challenge to change to the Primary Division to teach Physical Education and Science to the Primary Grade students. It requires the organizational skills to manage six different classes and the curriculum across three different grade levels.  This all has to be done in 40 minute lessons with over 100 students daily.  It is very rewarding to see the improvement in the Physical Literacy of the students.

Working as an CYW within this board has been, and continues to be a very rewarding and environment for gaining experience and having wonderful successes within teaching and education. Working with students one on one in reading, writing and mathematics allows them to have the opportunity to work at their own pace but still receive the extra teaching and discipline to become better independent students.

Too many people think they are your boss.  Educational Assistants are treated very poorly.  Always disrespected by principals, SERTs, and teachers.  I was a very motivated worker that they mentally destroyed.  Top heavy management that plays favourtism.  Very poor pay, barely above poverty line as an Educational Assistant.  Stay away from this place.

I enjoy my job and love working with children. Unfortunately unless you are Italian and have a personal relationship with a principal it’s very difficult to get a full time job, even with a lot of seniority. Overall, it’s  quite a cliquey environment to work in. Having said that, the teachers I have worked with are exceptional teachers and the students are for the most part sweet and polite. 

I love my job and I like the environment of the institution that I am working with. I like the work ethics and the culture of HWCDSB. I think my it's a learners friendly institution and the workers are given due respect here. 

classic toxic workplace, especially for maintenance and caretaking staff. The LIUNA union is run by thugs and the employer loves it. No chance for advancement unless you tow the line (which means you have to do favours for the boss) 

great place to work, excellent values and co-workers are supportive with each other.  Senior management could provide a more open communicaton style.  Feels like home.

difficult to get permanent. HR will make up any reason to not give permanent UNLESS you are a relative of someone they like. The union is also tremendously routed in nepotism and favouritism.
