Hour were long and didn't want to work with your availability. They wanted full time availability for part time or less hours, and even after telling them of my second job they asked me to have the same shifts which would've put my work hours at 15 hour days of just work. Didn't want to hire extra Staff to be trained before it got busy so everyone was trained on the fly and would literally put the new people on the busy shifts on purpose. 

Management didn't want departments talking to eachother about anything not work related. 

When things got too stressful/overwhelming during shift  they told you to ask for help. But then would get ticked off afterwards saying you couldn't keep up. 

You don't get benefits for 6 months which is probably so they don't have to actually pay for them bcs anyone who isn't a supervisor or manager quit or was fired before the benefits kicked in. 

Supervisors/Managers assumed they knew everything about everything and wouldn't listen to the people who had experience about the issues and legit solutions to solve them. They'd just tell you how to do it even if it was wrong/making the issue worse. 

Privately owned managers  at each location makes it very difficult to benefit or grow in the company.  As a front desk agent you do a lot more than  your job requires.  It is very busy and there was a lack of staff which caused for a lot of overtime hours and a lot of running upstairs and downstairs to accommodate guests as well as do your job.  I had to do a lot of housekeeping duties as well as my front desk receptionist duties as there is no housekeeping at night.  It’s very difficult to watch over guests needs when you were the only person working in the hotel in the evening shifts which makes it very stressful and very labour-intensive.  The benefits within the company are decent.  You do stand for your entire shift minus your breaks of course, it’s very hard on your feet as it is a lot of standing and running around for approximately 8-9 hours.  There was periods of time where I worked 12 days in a row and was given 1 day off after have been working for almost two weeks.  I do not recommend this position to anyone looking to grow within a company or make decent pay.

This job was very exhausting. I can’t even begin to express how poorly management treats all of its employees. Specifically the owner of the hotel. Talks down to everyone, interrupts everyone, treats each individual as if they do not know what they are doing. Worked here a long time and never was there any change. He had front desk agents doing tasks such as maintenance, housekeeping occasionally, making breakfast, making coffee and more. The training provided was not proper nor in full so you were stuck learning things on your own. The owner is even rude in front of guests a lot of the time and they were shocked by the level of unprofessionalism. This job is really not worth it. You’ll be doing tasks front desk agents should not be doing. Also often times you won’t get a break during an 8 hour shift at all, and sometimes you’ll be working 10-12 hours.

A typical day working at Hampton Inn was hard and phyically demanding. We changed the linens, towels, soap, coffee, tea, cups and everything that needed to be changed or to be replaced with clean and washed material. What I learned from working with Hampton Inn hotel was, it takes 15 minutes(20 minutes max.)to clean one room with 2 beds. Also, I learned how to clean the dining area and the stairs area of a hotel. The management was okay, would of been better if the manager hired two people per room and not one. For this reason, I lost 5 pounds within one and a half weeks working there. What if a pregnant woman was working there? Now you can paint the picture. But, the co workers were really friendly and helpful when you needed it. Overall, I enjoyed cleaning the rooms, helping guests with anything they needed and also cleaning.

The Hampton Inn is the most toxic work environment ever. The weak management team and very passive-aggressive. During the covid 19, they tried to fire the senior employees through text. The company doesn't have safety protocols during the covid 19, or not even provide masks or encourage employees to wear a mask. The work culture is mostly "likeable", where the managers only like employees who shine their shoes. The invisible ethnicity workers are not getting any respect or support. If you make any mistake, they will hang the sticky notes everywhere to shame you. The managers called you all these bitter nicknames. The managers are also divided into teams and created a hatred workplace for all the employees. 
However, you do have nice co-workers who are willing to stand for you.  

Overall was a great place to work. Free breakfast and lunch and lots to drink. Hampton took care of its workers. On the other hand associates display toxic environment. I was told "if you don't fight and talk back then you won't make it here at the Hampton Inn."
Grown woman fighting over linen and towel. Grown old woman would hide linens and towel in storage area and carts even when they are not working the day. They would also have their friends watching over their carts and boxes of linen hidden.  Diversity culture has no respect for each other... NO respect for the  house keeping, laundry manager . At the end of the day if you don't have a bully spirit  to work there you won't stand a chance.
As I said very toxic environment in the housekeeping department. and very rough around the edge.
Great manager that means well to help the team.

they tell you they work 9 hr days but I never worked more than a six hr shift.  dirty manager's office, they only care about getting a smoke break in them.  toxic work atmosphere the other women try and make gossip and trouble for you .  bring extra knives for backstabbing. just another dirty hotel that's poorly cleaned. immigrant workers to timid to stand up for their rights.  no RRSP matching that's a lie.  woman who does laundry tries to strip rooms first so she can steal your tips.  she was caught doing this.  she does a poor job and leaves thing like pillow cases inside out.  Hampton keeps all the bottles and cans and keeps the deposit on them.  they don't share that with workers, that used to be a housekeepers soft tip.   not anymore, Hampton sees money, Hampton takes money.

First of all was not trained properly and the manager at the front desk would physically bump you out of the way and get mad when you wouldn’t do something right but it was his fault it was going right. You have to deal with grumpy people during the night and early mornings and the hotel manger would try to make the front desk people go into guests rooms and check their things to make sure they weren’t ladies of the night! Also your expected to clean the bottom floor of the hotel even though there are cleaning staff that literally get payed to also do that. So your over worked. There is also a store that no one buys anything from that I literally never stepped foot into the entire time I was an employee. Also I only worked there for about 4 months it was awful for the beginning!

Typical day was organizing laundry, getting the washing machines and dryers going, and folding clean laundry. Next would be maintaining the shute room for dirty laundry until housekeepers were finished, and loading up a huge bin to take up to the floors and distribute the clean folded laundry to there own closets. Hardest part of the job was usually on Sundays when it was the busiest, but with patience, teamwork, and a keeping a positive attitude, we got the job done. Best part of the job for me was being behind the scenes doing the same thing every day. For me, I just don't get bored with that kind of job, but actually find it relaxing.

Would work 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday I would come in get my board with my assigned Rooms and would get my cart that would be stocked from other day I wold clean about 14 to 16 rooms a day If I was done I would go and help out other staff or clean the public areas or even help out in Laundry. I was trained to be a housekeeper supervisor to fill in on the days the Head supervisor was off or not in.
I would then assign rooms check rooms and do inventory if needed.
I worked with a great group of girls who all made work fun and easy going along with great supervisors. The hardest part of the day would be if someone called in and you got 20  rooms to get done 
I love to clean to I loved my job I would still be working there if I didnt move out West
