Typical day is standing in front of a machine, putting a part in and pushing a button. 8 hr shifts with two 10 minute breaks and a 20 min unpaid lunch. Not much to learn here, little skill required. Most the time the job is moderately physical. 

Production floor is VERY hot in the summer and cool in the winter.  

MANDATED overtime reigns supreme here.  You will work a forced 6 day a week work week if you want to keep your job, sometimes working 2 months or more straight before you finally are allowed to take a weekend. They want your sweat, tears, and blood while management doesn't seem to have a care in the world about your physical, emotional, and mental state all while they get all there weekends off to spend time with there family's.

Unless your a good butt kisser and get in good with the gentlemen's club you will never spread your wings and advance here. 

The wage is decent for the area and the benefits are good but the 6 day a week mandated overtime will suck the life right out of you.  You will turn into a zombie and lose sight of why it is you go to work everyday.  You will turn into a machine and they will treat you exactly like that's what you are.  This company is best avoided.

Management is horrible, Human Resources is horrible as well and completely unreliable for any help with any situation occurring within the factory. I was 4 minutes late from break on an overtime shift and was stopped by a supervisor and told that it is intolerable to do so. On several occasions, I would be in the washroom minding my business when a coworker would come inside hollering for me, saying that the management was looking for me and wanting me at my machine. This company expects you to work as a robot. You are nothing more than that to this company, and will be most likely treated as garbage if you choose to argue against their ridiculously strict policies. They also, unlike most companies, provide you a boot voucher after putting in a year’s amount of work with the company. This company is cheap, they have incredibly irresponsible management, and they are in this business purely for the money, so if you aren’t making more than the expected amount of parts you can make, you are trash to them and will be replaced in no time. The pay is also horrible compared to any other factory, they give small raises and you HAVE to put in plenty of time in order for them to do that for you. Good luck to whoever thinks these people deserve your time and your help.

Unfortunately I had medical issues just after starting so really messed up my attendance.  Despite that the company gave me an extra year on my two year contract to try and make up for the issues. My medical issues plus covid really screwed my chances.  The company itself busted their butts to keep us working while others were laying off people.  My co-workers were awesome , loved working there wish I could have had extra few months to prove myself as was just starting to get things under control, time was against me but not at all treated unfair by company.  Worked as tube cutter and in manual endforming, only thing that was weird to me and likely could have been resolved with communication was mandatory overtime when it didn't seem to be needed. but if you want extra money this place will give it to you for sure.  they don't ask much just be able to show up every day which isn't asking much at all.  Great place , Great culture. The site manager is like none I've ever worked for, he comes around every day to say hi to staff and when he first took over as site director seen him working equipment and getting to know the job. very impressed 


What is the best part of working at the company?
A job only worth getting a  paycheck for. Only good thing I can say is they try to keep you working during the strikes every 4 years. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The fact that a c9mpany who cares more about their management members and supervisors than the workers who make your products. If they dard to care about us then more of us would have stayed and made better targets and would have cared more. When you don't care about your workers who should they care about your numbers. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Most floor workers are kind and helpful. Management is hard on all for targets and getting product out. They don't care and will replace you like you don't matter. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Fast paced work environment that is highly stressful.

Good place to work for gaining experience in a automotive parts manufacturing environment.
People are overall pretty good here, although management is of the typical corporate mindset. Production supervisors lack the directives to effectively manage all aspects of the production processes, and responsibilities are often passed off like a hot potato. Advancement opportunities are harder to come by than years ago, but if you work hard, maintain reasonably good attendance and dedicate a portion of your life to this place you will eventually get noticed. 
The automotive sector in general had suffered some serious setbacks over the years, and many lifer’s feel remorse when looking back at how things once were. 

Handed out 10% pay cut, loss of bonuses  and some benefits following the engineered Wall St. housing bubble crash but increased workloads.  Most promotion wages don't pay much more than production, if there is one available.  Super hot in summer.  Overtime isn't an option, it's mandatory. Sweat factory like in order to "compete" with companies with a much lower standard of living.  Expect to miss, or, get called from your lunch and breaks if you're Maintenance, Quality, Tech. etc.  Cost saving always come at the expense of the employee.  HR favors corporate interests especially when it come to Disabilty Insurance,, etc.  Mandatory vaccines coming despite having trouble hiring enough people.

It wasn't a bad job overall, fairly straightforward and common sense oriented with minimal labour involved.

It wasn't for me personally between the MAD rotation and mandated overtime, found myself standing in one spot the majority of the time and it was difficult always having to adjust my sleep patterns (every two weeks) and the break schedule wasn't good at all, two 10s and a 20min lunch is unacceptable, can't even enjoy your meal, literally have to inhale it.

In saying that though the people and management were decent and helpful and they pay decent for the area.

Minimal pay for maximum production and you get to be treated like your stupid. No room for promotions those are saved for the ones with friends and family benefits. You will get to give up your life cause you will be mandated to work every weekend most of the year especially during summer months when its hot and humid inside. Be prepared to sweat a lot. Management don't care about employees and you will be treated like your stupid most of the time. They will tell you about bonuses but don't expect to receive one.

Very fast paced and can be unpredictable. Customers are unforgiving and deadlines and priorities can be shifted at a moments notice. The office staff was dramatically reduced when the Auto recession hit and never was fully re-staffed, so everyone has multiple responsibilities. However despite being high stress and fast-paced, the other employees both in the office and on the floor do whatever they can to help each other and come together to accomplish what needs to be done.

Cant' complain too much as we've seen up's and down's here, and as with all Automotive Mfg in Canada, who knows what the future will bring !!

Management can be lacking in many ways, and sometimes they can be their own worst enemy. 

Top dogs come and go like the wind, and its usually a race to make friends and suck up to the new Plant Managers, Supervisors etc.

Its amazing that they've been able to stay afloat this long. This place deserves a trophy for being able to stay somewhat profitable considering how its being managed :)
