What I Believe and I have Learned:-
I’d imagine that working in any role teaches you a lot about time management, how to prioritize, and the value of good communication. You also learn about how to work with different personalities, handle stress, and keep improving your skills. The job could also teach you about resilience, especially when things don’t go as planned.

Management:-
Management plays a huge role in setting the tone for the workplace. Effective management means providing direction and clarity, offering support, and fostering growth opportunities. Good managers listen to their teams and try to guide them toward goals, while bad management might feel more like micromanagement, causing frustration or confusion. Communication is key.

Workplace Culture:
It is essential for creating an environment that supports collaboration, respect, and innovation. If the culture is positive, it feels like a supportive community where people share ideas and genuinely care about each other’s success. On the flip side, a toxic culture might result in stress, competition over collaboration, and a lack of morale. Ideally, it should be a space where diversity, inclusivity, and work-life balance are prioritized.

The Hardest Part of the Job:-
The hardest part can vary by role, but for many, it’s managing competing priorities or dealing with stressful situations. Whether it's juggling multiple projects, meeting tight deadlines, or handling conflicts, these challenges can really test patience and problem-solving abilities.

The Most Enjoyable Part of the Job:-

A typical day at work at Harbour Landing Village is dynamic and rewarding. I’m always engaged with the team and residents, and there's never a dull moment. Over time, I’ve learned a lot about community building and providing exceptional care and service, which has been incredibly valuable.

Management is supportive and always strives to create an environment where employees feel heard and appreciated. They actively encourage personal and professional development, which I’ve really appreciated.

The workplace culture is warm and collaborative. Everyone is friendly, approachable, and works together to create a positive experience for the residents and staff alike. It truly feels like a family.

This place is genuinely the worst place I have ever worked for. I am so glad I quit. They have a high turn around rate for a reason. All the reviews on here were posted from upper management to make them look good. Harbour Landing is unorganized and does not care about their employees. Problems are never solved if you talk to management about them. It feels like high school. Only the senior management is treated with respect. They EXTREMELY under pay staff. Don't trust other reviews. When I would tell people where I worked, they would tell me how they have heard so many horror stories. Run while you can. 

Harbour Landing Village- Roots gave me the opportunity to work with the team.
As a landed PR here in SK Ca & its a first timer working abroad. I applied as walk in applicant ROOTS gave their TRUST to me to work even i don't have experience working in a restaurant here in SK. and i am luckily that now i am a regular part time employee in the said restaurant. The HVL is a great place to work with a strong focus on employee development. The company culture is collaborative and supportive, with a strong emphasis on work-life balance. I appreciate the flexible scheduling options and the HVL commitment to the employee.

Great staff, the most wonderful residents,  Palliative/End of life-getting close to residents and their families-feeling like you are losing your own family when a resident passes is heart wrenching. A Management position is both stressful and rewarding-always trying to do the right thing is not always the easiest thing. Rewards are helping staff achieve their individual excellence. Growth and development never go out of style. Seeing residents and staff happy makes my heart happy. No micromanaging from Executives, and being part of a solid very helpful team is rewarding. 

I wish I would have never accepted a position here. Not only was I under paid and overworked. They way management treats the staff is ridiculous. Management is ignorant, rude, and petty. I dont understanding how the owners dont connect the dots to complaints and the high overturn of staff before they do and actually change something. Then again they also clearly don't respect their employees and view them as people much like the rest of management. They look good on social media, but trust me it's all fake right down to the care giving to all members in the building. I've seen the most ridiculous things here. I've gone the therapy to work through the trauma this place has giving me. 

They give the impression that you're going to be a valued employee. This is FALSE. They will pile on work that you never agreed to take on and then make you feel worthless if you don't complete it. They will assign projects with insane timelines and once you work yourself to the bone to complete it, they will "forget" to review it. 
They will make you believe you have room for advancement, promise you a position and then hire someone from outside to do it - without warning you!
If you take nothing away from this review, at least be warned about HR. They tell you they are there for you, but if you tell them something in confidence - they will tell the CEO.

Harbour Landing Village is place that foster positivity and creativity. You are surrounded with good people. Each and everyone one is ready to lend a hand and works as one team. 
Management is approachable and ready to listen to everyone's concern. In my almost three years of working here I learned that you should be open minded to different cultures and you learn to adapt to your environment. The hardest part of the job is when you lose one of the resident, it feels like you are losing one your family member. And the most enjoyable part is that everyday you see faces of those residents and you know that you are one of the reason of their smiles.
