Employees and Contractors at the grass roots level are hard working group of people. 
A lot of the hard work and effort however goes unnoticed by upper management and local management as these people in these roles are to worried about losing their positions. They have no problem throwing their subordinates under the proverbial bus so to speak in-order to save their positions! Lack of spine! Not willing to work with all involved in-order to keep all working. Say one thing do another! Say safety is first and foremost, yet ask over worked operations people to work long hours and then question the overtime recorded!

Worked on mostly setting up database for PM scheduling software. I found that the engineering on this project was very lacking, no document control to speak of, information was hard to evaluate as to what the latest revisions or most up to date direction was. The guys I worked directly with, colleagues, managers, etc, were excellent and I would work with any of them again, but the engineering team and upper management were somewhat hard to deal with. They seemed to be constantly fighting for control and didn't seem to get anywhere.

This company was undergoing some fairly dramatic changes when I was working there in 06-08.  There was quite a bit of management change and at times it was a little confusing on who you were reporting to.  That said, the work was challenging and there were lots of opportunities for hands-on field work.

Scanned and made virtual copies of private documents.  Management was amazing and the whole environment at the company was very friendly and helpful. I loved coming in everyday saying hello to everyone in the office and getting to work. I didn't like leaving because I really liked it there. I learned a lot about myself and what I'm capable of.

Worked there 4 years, downturn in industry and lower oil price caused concern for the company and several cuts were made. I was responsible for making those staff cuts which was the hardest part of the job. Eventually even myself was cut.  Several changes in management took place as well
Many of the staff were incredible to work with however.

Enjoy working at the BlackGold site. I have learnt many new things and there is good variety at this site. It's been good experience and I hope to apply this to future endeavours. The people I got a chance to work with is the best part of my job. A typical day at work is always changing making it a fast paced environment.

-morning meeting @ 7am 
-enter test data and down time 
-check emails 
-check all wells on scada 
-head out to field put wells in test make sure everything is running fine 
-log plant 
-change water plant filter 
-most maintenance on all equipment 
-change chemical pumps 
-trouble shoot loss of production and well problems

The company offers good opportunities to develop skills, however, the environment, in general, was changed when the company was acquired by an international government.

The culture was family-oriented and firmly upheld strong family values and principles. It was a safe environment that did not discriminate against any individuals.
