I am not a disgruntled ex-employee.  I am bewildered at how management works.  They are disorganized and lack motivation for change.  Working within the confines of 830 to 430 is not the issue, having 0 flexibility for families who may need after hours poses concern.  I absolutely loved my position, my direct coworkers and the tenants I supported.  And right up until the final moment I would have stayed for the rest of my career.  But I have worked in social services for a long time and live by the moto " be the change you want to see" and as soon as I voiced my thoughts, management got worried I'd be the one who would push for better, meaning someone's cosey job, may not be so cosey anymore.  
Tenants deserve better.  A lengthy wait list for housing is one thing  but to be referred for extra support and having to wait again is unacceptable.  The whole housing system is seriously dismantled.  
When you have staff that grow ill because they have to talk to a manager; managers need to make change. 
When you have ideas for improvements ; managers should listen. 
Not here!!  But what I learned was to be thankful that this Manager kept me from losing my soul, just like her!  

I worked at Hastings Manor Belleville Home for 3 and a half years. When I first started working there, I loved going into work. I looked forward to helping the residents and didn’t feel anxious at all. As time went on and management changed, the morale changed and work wasn’t as enjoyable as it used to be.   Management isn’t always approachable and they seem to take a lot of vacation time. When there is any type of issue that needs to be addressed, management often makes it seem like YOU are the problem and make YOU wonder what YOU could have done differently.

Management is always hiding from problems or on vacation. I love my co workers, despite being short staffed EVERYDAY we manage to get our work done to the best of our ability. Management never comes to thank you for all of your effort and hard work. Definitely a very physically demanding job any day but SO much worse with being short staffed. Your vacation won't  get approved, so I hope you don't plan on going any where exotic or spending extra time with your loved ones. 

I have been in the workforce 40-plus years, worked here for 21, and in the last five to seven years it has turned into nothing but a competitive punitive toxic environment. It has gone through three directors in as many years, staff are leaving early, quitting or resigning just to get out. Sadly upper management cannot see what is happening or they just don't care. It's all about the company and nothing about the staff. I used to love my job here.

No workplace is perfect,  but of all the LTC homes in the greater Belleville area,  this one is the best. Workplace is well organized and because it's not-for-profit there aren't the same constraints and inherent short falls of a for-profit LTC.

Being a paramedic is difficult; it's physically, emotionally, and spiritually taxing. The management team at HQPS is comprised of individuals who had to be taken off the road due to mental or physical injury, or simple incompetence. Rather than getting the help they need, they are promoted to longer affect patients, and instead are inducing burnout and PTSD injuries on their employees.

Worst and most toxic place to ever work. It feels like being in an abusive relationship your to afraid to leave. Constantly put down by management residents and other staff because the work expectations are way to high! 1 psw is expected to do the work of 3 people and management dose not care about staff or residents. 

It was by far the most stressful place to work that I have ever imagined.. the job was amazing I loved it.  The management there couldn’t organize a circle.. if I would have left there I would have been on anxiety meds for the rest of my life 

I love working for Hastings County. Great employer, very supportive of employees and overall a happy environment.  Employees are also friendly and supportive. 
the work can be difficult depending on what department you are in. There can be high stress times, but management is quick to debrief and assist when needed.

I would not recommend working for Hastings County. The management and human resource departments are awful, they both work against the frontline workers. Frontline workers are over worked and underpaid. The environment is stressful and mismanaged.
