Great people, guests and co-workers, lots of training , lots of overtime during racing season, only good for hourly wages and tips, not good for salary management positions, 

There is great job security, but what this means is that toxic people are hard to get rid of and entrenched. I was very disappointed in that as well as the fact that although I was told the company would have no problem working with my scheduling, they immediately started scheduling me against my availability.

Customers are fun to work with. The whole casino and Horse Racing environment is so fun and full of excitement.  Here I get to Provide customer service and at times render First Aid.

A typical day at work would be getting up at early hours, and come into the track. The job included walking and cooling out horses as well as giving them ointments. As well as other treatment it also included doing stalls and paddocking when it was race day.

It is a fast paced environment, with speed and accuracy being a must. Must understand how to make change (currency) quickly.
You are being watch via cameras to assure you’re not on your personal phone and or you’re slipping money into your pocket.

I enjoyed my time being employed here ..it's nice to be around the horses and my boss was awesome so was his wife. My days started early and kept me busy until around two and I'd still have enough time to do errands after work 

The horse racing industry has struggled in North America for a number of years. The cost of owning horses and running a track in an urban environment is very significant.

Major employee turnover you have to wonder why working in the customer service department was a little bit irritating having to walk around and talk to people instead of letting them come to you

That's why they can't find anyone to work there! $18 an hour job that pays $14! Place is a old dump in need of a major upgrade to both the barn areas,casino, and just in general the entire facility.

Was such a fun place to work and I really enjoyed going above and beyond for our customers. This allowed me to make some really good relationships both with customers and co-workers.
