Typical Responsibilities:

•Coordinates the Training and Quality Requirements of the Central Canada Division.
•In collaboration with the senior team and work to identify gaps and improvement opportunities in the company’s current training practices and procedures.
•Ensure consistent application of quality policies while complying with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

•Has ongoing experience with guiding and directing trainers prior to commencement, during and post learning sessions.
•Active member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee 
•Maintains all files pertaining to training contracts and courses including registration lists and relevant databases.
•Attends staff meetings; takes part in collaborative decision-making and goal setting of future training courses.
•Responsible for making sure that Project Managers/Directors adhere to Quality Requirements and Procedures.
•Organizes and leads Monthly Project Manager Workshops.
•Trains Project Manages/Directors on company eforms.
•Trains Canada Central staff on PiMS (the company Project Management Information System.)
•Problem-solves concerns as they arise with trainers/trainees.

Autoclave Piping Design Technologist Co-op

Computer proficiency in 3D CAD systems 3D MicroStation V8. 

3D modeling of piping circuits
Detailing of components
Producing piping schematics

Becoming part of a well established design team responsible for the design of advanced process systems for hydrometallurgical facilities
Using advanced software and trained by well educated team. 
Able to read and design Autoclaves PFD’S and P & ID’S

I worked for Hatch Mott MacDonald for 8 years and met the company’s president a couple times. I was laid off along with a third of the Atlantic Canada staff at a time when I was over 80% billable. Since then they have closed additional offices. Management is very top-down oriented and controlling. Salary and benefits were good but no point in having any loyalty to this corporation as profitability is all they care about and there’s is no loyalty to you.

Very good place to work! great culture and very professional in their approach to successfully completing engineering projects in North America. I enjoyed working for HMM as there were many challenging projects, the management and administration staff  were very knowledgeable providing the very best engineering solutions to solve complex problems.There is a great work life balance and employees are treated like people not a number. I would work them again in a New York minute!

I was in charge of property acquisitions for the Eglinton subway project and civil design, also inroads and field work for other projects for light rail

Working with and doing some training for younger staff, micro station questions, 

Lots of young staff right out of school, some with AutoCAD only training, very diverse group from many countries, lots of difficult language barriers.

I love my job and working with young people.

Employee-owned company. Excellent benefit and pension plans. Strong emphasis on safety in the workplace. Company going through layoffs and attrition for several years now due to down turn in metals industry. Infrastructure group which was formerly Hatch Mott MacDonald is always busy however.

Cut throat company in a cut throat industry.  Very much a "what have you done for me today type of culture if you are an experienced, well paid employee. Good place to get diverse experience for Jr. to intermediate engineers and scientists.

I enjoyed working for HMM the people and projects were always a challenge and provided me with an interesting career. They take good care of their employees and treat you like family. The very best in professional design engineering.

Working at Hatch Mott MacDonald has been a very valuable experience. It gave me the opportunity to work with very skilled professionals, great leaders and teams. 

Friendly work place, good colleagues.
Less opportunity to be promoted. It looks like the "networking" is working very well.
Remuneration scale is at medium to low level.
