Heebie Jeebies

I got to work at 6pm to start my daily tasks such as:
- helping actors put on costumes
- getting my flashlight and fire extinguisher
Then the doors would open and I would find my position for the six hour night. 
I've learned how to be confident in my positon and was able to do my job better because of it. 
The manager was unclear about the system support staff had and was very fast to call judgement on people and fire them. He also stated that the actors/support staff that did all the nights of the haunt would receive an extra $200 however at the end of the haunt he went bankrupt and had to let go of many employees (including me) and canceled the $200. 
The hardest part was the system, because the manger never told us when we would have breaks we worked as a team to develop a fair system which worked for us, but once the manager found out he yelled at us for not following his system that he never told us about.
The most enjoyable part was being able to help people who didn't know where to go or if they felt too scared to continue as well as seeing the scared/joy when patrons were scared.

At Heebie Jeebies, a typical day involves customer service, restocking, and setting up displays. During peak seasons, the pace is fast, requiring teamwork and quick problem-solving. Working here offers valuable experience in customer service, multitasking, and communication, along with an inside view of retail operations. Management is typically hands-on, guiding staff through busy periods, solving customer issues, and keeping things running smoothly.

The culture is energetic, especially around Halloween, with a sense of camaraderie among staff and a fun, lighthearted atmosphere due to the spooky merchandise. The hardest part of the job is handling the increased workload during busy times, managing challenging customers, and dealing with the physical demands of long hours and restocking. However, the most enjoyable part is the unique environment, the chance to work with themed products, and the fun of helping customers excited about decorating for special events.

The most fun I've had at a job in years and pretty good pay for what you're doing.
14 dollars to scream at guests, and they enjoy it just as much as you do!

The downside is the location. If you don't have a car/ride or someone willing to drive out at midnight to pick you up, you're outta luck.

I feel like management stays pretty on top of things overall.
I don't think they expected just how much Heebie Jeebies was gonna blow up last year. They knew it was gonna be a big event, but at the end of the day, a few changes had to be made to keep up with the influx and it was handled quite well considering.

Would be nice if there were heaters in the break areas. It's October so it gets pretty chilly, especially during the quieter nights when you're not moving around as much. You can only put on so many layers under your costume without looking too bulky.

I'm looking forward to all the changes they'll make in the future!

In order to work in a fast-paced and seasonal job, you need to be efficient in your job and understand the responsibility that comes with the position given. While I enjoyed my experience, I know of many others who had complained to me about their specific conditions and how busy the workplace was. Given the environment and intent of the company though it is a given that the time around Halloween will be busy. 

I felt as though I was being paid fairly for my time and what was expected of me. I also felt as though the owners did not dislike me, which made the experience better as they were a bit tough on people who they viewed as 'lazy' or 'scaredy-cats.'

If you arrive early you can walk around, I think I learned more social skills, I started talking to really nice people, and people there are extremely nice to you. Haunt manager and bosses are really nice, I worked in the Hollows and my maze boss was honestly the coolest guy ever! hardest part is just standing there when its a slow night, that or when people touch or wave their hands in your face. The most enjoyable part is the scares, honestly really funny to watch grown men jump at least 3 ft in the air. 

It no easy job I will say but it fun once you get used to it. I was working in the mazes and I will say it can get overwhelming if you are not fond of loud noises. Scaring people is really fun but can grow tiring after a bit so if you get tired easily from scaring people I wouldn't recommend being in the mazes. For scare zone I cannot say much since I didn’t work at that part but I heard from a freind it was really fun interacting with people and taking photos.

independent, I found I was doing a lot by myself and was constantly asking management how I needed to do things. I was able to use my social strengths to overcome any issues and have a good time. I would've made a good supervisor!

I thought I would take this job to make some extra money during the fall, however this place is not it. I got the job easy enough, I think they are pretty desperate due to the fact that they don't treat employees too well. The manager is very conceited and doesn't know how to run a proper business. Got bad vibes as soon as I went to the training. Overall just not a great place to work.

It's busy and customer facing.  Found management to be easy to communicate with.  You will be in awe with what it takes to put on this performance.  Watching the customers can be quite entertaining.

You can I’ll get touched groped by strangers on the daily i highly suggest not working here I have seen actors faces bleeding from someone getting too scared. 

The sense of accomplishment you get from making each scare is not worth having to put up with intoxicated people
