Typical days were a mix of physical and mental demands which I found not overly taxing on my body.
I learned about manufacturing processes that were engineered for quality assurance.
Management shared their production and quality oriented systems to ensure production compliance with costumers.
We worked in teams by assisting each other to the same goals of quality and quantity.
Hardest part of the job was co-ordinating your efforts with other team members.
Easiest part of the job was when everyone worked in concert with other process, creating a positive working enviroment.

They increased the pay a lot with the last union contract which is nice. Benefits, everyone is full time, no shift rotation. Lot's of overtime if you want it. The Oakville plant moved to Burlington for more space, it didn't shut down as someone else said.  It's pretty easy work for what you earn.  It is hot in the summer but you get extra breaks if it gets to be a certain temperature and they bring in Popsicles/freezies.  The company seems to genuinely try make their employees happy but there are some employees that will just always find something to complain about and spoil it for the rest.  Summer BBQ's and Christmas luncheons. Can't complain.

We worked in a cell of 4 people and we would change tasks on a daily basis so we were not doing the same job everyday.  I learned how to run 25 ton injection mold presses, I also learned how to trim the part, I ran button machine and I also learned how to finish parts to be packed and sent out.  Management was great, I could count on them for help.  The hardest part of the job was the heat in the summer time giving you issues.  The most enjoyable part of the job was seeing that finished part at the end.

While I worked there, certain management personnel played favourites, were dishonest and verbally abusive. If you are not part of a 'click' then good luck to you. 
That said, I enjoyed the work itself, and it's a shame that once a supervisor or manager has a bad on for you then you're pretty much screwed. 
HR, Engineering, Quality department people were outstanding.
I worked a lot of overtime to help meet deadlines as I was dedicated and committed to the customers. Yes the overtime money was good but it took a toll.

Workers have NO human values at all. You need to be like them to fit in. “Red Tape” mentality is needed so that supervisor will take care of you. No benefit from your union dues unless you have a violent behaviour and agree with the morals of the union president. There’s NO financial transparency to the union members with regards to the membership fee. Filthy place to work at. Cleanliness ONLY works when there are government officials and higher officials visitation. Worker’s here loves to be entertain by explicit jokes. 

• 8 hours of running a very hot press, two 7 minute breaks and one 30 minute lunch
• making rubber sealing for Cadillac and Escalade vehicles
• my managers were very helpful
• most of my co-workers were polite, hard-working, and very knowledgeable
• the hardest part of the job was working in very high temperatures
• the most enjoyable part of the job was meeting new and exciting people to work with

Job could be dirty, especially in the mixing dept. but work was steady and people I worked with could be a lot of fun. We did production work, had daily quota's that always seemed to increase, even though we couldn't keep up, but we did our best. The plant was the only one owned by Henniges that was actually profitable, so the shutdown was a shock. They weren't making enough money due to the rate of exchange.

working at Henniges Automotive is very hot environment very fast and pushy environment and the management are not fair for everybody the workers most of them two face people and not cooperating with new workers.night shift much better shift there is another Department that very dusty and there is another Department deal with chemicals am not sure how much is safe to work there.but working at Auto DET. is better easy to keep up

It’s sad to see such a great company be ran into the ground over 25 years of miss management ! All I can say is thanks for the severance and the grass is greener. Workplace culture was disgusting management had no clue on how to manage and the most enjoyable part of the day was punching out and going home. And what I’ve learned is listen to your gut when it tells you to jump ship.
